I've had this problem my entire life why don't you go to the Dr and get you some medicine. I got tired of never getting any sleep and I hope and pray I never lose my Dr. because he listens. A bottle of 30 generic Ambien are less than $10. at the pharmacy at Midtown, isn't it worth it to finally get some sleep?

I've had this problem my entire life. Even in elementary school, I would go to bed at 9:30pm, lay there awake until 2 or 3am, then get up at 5:30am to catch the bus. Rough times!
FWIW, I'm almost entirely convinced that it was due to my mom's smoking, which may have caused a weak pineal gland. I also have weaker thyroid, adrenal, and pituitary glands, all of which can be caused by heavy exposure to secondhand smoke as a child.
As an adult, I take a combination of 5mg of melatonin and 2.5g of Valerian root, then I try to read for 30 minutes to an hour before going to sleep. After 8 weeks of taking melatonin, though, you have to stop for a week prevent a dependency.
Luckily for me, I prefer working at night, and this job usually requires a lot of night work (server updates, software updates, etc), so it works out

The milk chocolate has very little in it. It doesn't bother me, whereas decaffeinated tea does. May be different people react differently.

I used to suffer from insomnia. Sometimes I'd only get one or two hours of sleep before I had to go to work then I heard that going to bed at the same time every night helped so I tried it and it worked. I used to stay up late on weekends but started going to bed at the same time EVERY night and no more insomnia.

I use a generic Unisom and melatonin combo. Works about as well as anything I've ever tried, including perscription medication. Absolutely no caffeine after noon, at the latest. My methods of getting sleep are not healthy, but I have to sleep somehow or I can't function.

Put all bad thoughts out of your head at bed time, think of someplace you'd like to be. Quit tossing and turning , and trying to solve your problems.

Try melatonin 3, 5, or 10 milligrams. You can find it in the vitamin isle. I take 10 milligrams every night about 30 minutes before bed and have for several years and it really works for me. Best of luck.
