the sad state of things in wilkes has people like you to blame...if you were on the right track, we would see some growth and improvement. Yes, wilkes is a sleepy little community, but goods and services offered here are sub-par....everything from medical care to restaurant food. Everything here is not only a little older, but less well done, and workers/businesses have no reason to NOT be second or third rate...bc they know this is a sleepy little community with a buffer zone of stagnant economy. We already see brain and skills drain, in which retirees are left behind, far from the medical centers they need and up and coming professionals move away to begin their careers. What happens when these retirees pass away? I guarantee there will not be nearly as many folks who choose wilkes as where they choose to retire.

Amazon confirmed that Raleigh is not the only location they are looking at in NC. It could stretch back to Greensboro...but no further west than that for sure. This would also ruin commute times to the beach for anyone in wilkes! yet another reason to protest

Bad as the GOP is, they will always be better than the Democrats. I have been really disappointed with them here in the state and also in Washington.
