Also keep in mind that people here aren't really used to paying admission for things. How many times has an awesome band played somewhere with a $5 cover, but no one shows?

I think you would be disappointed at how many people would be willing to pay a $20 admission.

I suspect that the OP is considering business ideas with low start-up costs, so restaurants and franchises aren't practical, either. Neither is retail, really, unless you can get a loan to cover inventory.

I applaud you for thinking outside the box but I don't think this business would succeed here. But that's just my opinion. Good luck if you do decide to open a rage room.

If I’m breaking my own stuff, I can do that at home for free. By the time I load up my stuff and drive somewhere, I’m probably not pissed any more

I'm voting for a enema parlor,as full of poo as the political posters on GW are.
I see nationwide franchise opportunities with many millionaires being created.

The idea is bad.... mainstream businesses have a hard enough time making it here.. your idea is way out on the fringes of what anyone around here would be willing to spend money on

Open up a sub place (not subway) instead

What about one of those wine and paint places. Women love to drink and pretend like they are crafty at the same time.

I agree with Troubled. There is a big need for family entertainment here.

This is a bad idea. People here already use their own homes to rage-out in.

If you really want to open a business that will do well here, open something like Bo's in Lenoir. People would come from surrounding counties to bring their kids to that. Especially in the winter months when there is nothing for them to do. Unfortunately the start up costs for something like that would be a lot.

Also I do hope this doesn't discourage you into continuing to find an entertainment type business in the area that would be successful. We need more things to do here.

I really don't think it has a long range plan of success. You may find a short time, but it will die down pretty quickly.

Also, the $20 BYOB I would never ever pay for because if I'm bringing my own breakables, I'll just break them at home. What is the advantage to bringing them to you over breaking them at home? Sell me on that.

Why pay for a rage room room when you can beat your wife for free?

I like your anger management plan, but you also need to add the kids. NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND.

LOL nut.

population density and median disposable income means that these short-lived fads don't often reach Wilkes...or survive if they do..

700,000 people vs 68,000

They were popular in SC 3 years ago and now they are closing down.

unless the price includes a couple pills or meth i don't see this making it. i see these places doing well in alot of places i travel to but not around here.one thing i see doing well in the d.c. area is the paint and drink or puff and paint for the weed lovers but when you think about something like that in wilkes it would go bust in 2 weeks.

Hello all!

My name is Justin. I am looking to gauge potential audience/influx of business for a business I am in the process of planning.

What is a Rage Room?

A rage room, also know as a smash room or anger room, is a business where people can vent their emotions by destroying objects within a room.

I am looking into the possibility of opening a similar business here locally in Wilkes.

Packages would start around $20 for (B.Y.O.B) Bring You Own Breakables and go up from there. The standard package would be around $35-$40; you would be provided with around 15 small breakables and one medium sized breakable. There would be special add-ons/promotions as well.

I created a poll to help gauge interest locally within Wilkes and surrounding areas.

I have also included a video for reference.
