Actually some of the mispronounced words are better than the 'correct' spellings. I made mostly A's in spelling and English in school but I ain't proud of it.

I don't know if this counts but I had someone ask me where the "marinara cherries" were the other day at work.
She meant maraschino cherries, and after saying it back to her she still called them marinara cherries, so

A lot of mispronounced words are because a person can't speak certain letters.. Example like R, the OP mentioned refrigerator.. Some people would say refrigewatel... There are others, yet the reasoning idk...
