JUDGE JEANNIE HOUSTON

ANGEL GIRL

Posted 9:28 pm, 04/02/2008

I've dealt with Houston for 11 yrs w/ no success! The deadbeat was $6200 behind and lived in a million dollar house, never paid insurance and has had our daughter in very unsafe situations. Today Judge Duncan threw the book at him over child support. We didn't have to wait until lunch before the judge came in and everyone was treated fairly and with respect. Houston could take some notes by sitting in a properly ran courtroom. Bert Greene will have my vote for judge.

I wish someone from Publishers Clearing House was on my front porch, but, unfortunately, they aren't.The good thing about living in the United States is that ,so far, every person is entitled to an opinion. We may not always agree with someone's opinion and that is our right. Some say Judge Houston needs to go and some people, other than just myself, say she is an excellent judge and deserves to stay.

Fair and respectful? Houston?...hang on...hang on...**** just got 13 feet of snow and Publishers Clearing House is on my porch with a cardboard check and balloons...I, too, have been in Houstons arena many, many times and about 60-75% of the cases I heard, including mine, were judged on behalf of the deadbeat parent...If the child support system in Wilkes County expects to be any better then Houston needs to get gone...and fast. Otherwise Houstons courtroom will continue to be known as a safehaven for the deadbeat parents...

I have worked in the judicial system and can tell you first hand that there is no way Judge Houston could be "bought". Doing the right thing isn't always the popular thing. This lady should be reelected, IMHO.

I personally have never known Judge Houston to be partial toward male or female or whether they are rich or poor.

It has been my experience that this particular judge almost always rules in favor of the MAN...

Yea, I would love to have the case posted on gowilkes to see in our opinions who acted a fool...the judge or the parent.

I have been present, in the courtroom, many times when Judge Houston has been holding court. She is respectful and fair to each and everyone who has a court case. It would be impossible for ANY JUDGE to make everyone happy all of the time. If judges had the responsibility of making everyone happy, there would be no need for the court system or prisons. Everyone is in court for a reason and the judge must rule on a case based on all of the evidence and testimony, as well as the rules set out in the North Carolina General Statutes, instead of who will leave happy and who won't.Judge Houston is one of the most honest people I have ever known and she most definitely COULD NOT BE BOUGHT OFF. In my opinion she is an excellent judge and deserves to be reelected.

Another dead thread. When was the last time you heard from the poster. The poster was just venting in my mind. Carry on.

I have been in front of judge houston twice. I think it all depends on what kind of mood she is in. My ex boyfriend tried to kill me and she was more than happy and willing to go above and beyond to help me and my children stay safe and get away from him, however I was pregnant at the time and when we had to go to court for child support, she was nicer to all the DEAD BEAT dad's then she was to the hard working mothers who were just asking the fathers to help support their children financially.

Judge Houston is very fair and impartial - she could NEVER be bought off! People may not like her decisions but that's because she does what she thinks is right! It would be a shame for her not to be reelected because some people in her courtroom don't agree with her.

Back to the post. Who is running against Judge Houston? Can we make a educated choice based on opinions by the poster against Judge Houston? Does the opponent have experience?

Have no clue who she is.The system has failed America anyway. Most of the Lawers and Judges will do anything you ask them. If you have enough money.
