Googled for this list of socialist countries and to be honest there isn't one I would want to live. And if they aren't lead by a dictator they are starving their own people. Look at that list tell me what socialist country you would want to live in.

How many of the more than 55,000,000 innocent babies killed since 1973 in the U.S. had mothers with only a 50/50 chance of surviving child birth? Should the government have the authority to decide how many adults you can kill before you can be arrested? Should the unborn living child have a representative?

If you want to discuss the border, I'll gladly do so in another thread. In fact, I just replied to Michael's thread about it a few minutes ago. Let's keep this about abortion, shall we?
I think of myself as a Conservative. I used to be a Republican, but I stop believing that the Republican party represented me during the Bush Jr. era.
I do not believe that the federal government should have the right to make medical choices for people, no. I am strongly opposed to abortion as a method of birth control, but I also do not believe that if a woman has a 50/50 chance of dying from giving birth then politicians have the right to make the choice for her.
The belief that the politicians DO have that right, which is what you seem to believe, falls in line with the law of Socialist countries (which I presented in the OP).

The government was formed for just that purpose. Government should PROTECT the people. You know kinda like building a barrier to stop the Drugs, Murderers, and Human traffic of minors. NO the purpose of the government is not in the medical business, just the life saving of the innocent being slaughtered by the "Liberal" better known in the past as Democrats but now known as Socialist. None of which you would claim to support. Right?

Foxnose, you're confusing "Conservative" with "Republican."
Republicans are pushing for the federal government to have authority of its people to make medical choices for them. And from your example, they were the ones pushing for the federal government to have authority of its people to choose who they can marry.
By definition, Conservatives believe in a smaller government. This was one of Reagan's primary goals (along with open borders):
The modern Republican party promotes the exact opposite.
Can you show me how giving the federal government this amount of power meets the goal of a smaller government?
If not then I propose that the modern Republican party (and by extension, its followers) are the Liberals.

Liberals will be the ones sheltering illegal criminals, Conservatives will be the ones wanting to keep them out of our country. Liberals will be the ones wanting men to marry men and women marry women. Conservatives will be the ones speaking against perversions. Just a sampling

I'm pointing out that you've been misled, and that what you're wanting is an extremely liberal idea, not conservative.
You want to give the federal government the authority to make medical decisions for its people.
Just like you tried to give the federal government the authority to decide who people could marry.
The Republican party has been pushing extreme liberalism for awhile now.

I've noticed more and more that the Democrats are the Conservatives, where Republicans are almost extremely liberal.
Abortion is a good example. Democrats believe that the government has no right to interfere with medical decisions, where Republicans believe that the government should have final say on who can have an abortion, and when.
So if a woman has a 50% chance of dying in child birth, Republicans think that it should be up to politicians to decide whether she should die trying.
That's an extremely liberal ideology.

They banned their citizens from having abortions but at the same time the government would force abortions on pregnant women who already had one kid as a means for population control. Later they adopted a more "civilized" method of forcing parents to pay huge amounts of money to the government in exchange for allowing a second kid.
This sounds like more government controls and regulations which is what the Democrats are all about.

China is considered the "most Socialist" nation in the world:
So how do they handle abortion?
In the early 1950s, the Chinese government made abortion illegal save when
1) the mother had a preexisting condition, such as tuberculosis or pernicious anemia, that would cause the pregnancy to be a threat to the mother's life;
2) when traditional Chinese medicine could not settle an overactive fetus and spontaneous abortion was expected; and
3) when the mother had already undergone two or more Caesarean sections.[3]
Punishments were written into the law for those who received or performed illegal abortions.[3] In 1954 and 1956, the law was extended to include other pre-existing illnesses and disabilities, such as hypertension and epilepsy, as well as allowed women working in certain types of occupations to qualify.[3] Women who had already had four children and became pregnant four months after giving birth to their last child also qualified for an abortion.[3]
I just think that's kind of interesting... Republicans act like they hate Socialism, yet the plans they promote are copying those of Socialist countries
