WILKES SENIORS ON STAGE SUNDAY SPRING CONCERT

Public Event · by SWALT

Sunday, May. 17, 2015

Seniors on Stage is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of singing in Wilkes County and the surrounding areas. This year's concert is in memory of Joe Brewer, a founding member of Seniors on Stage, who died on February 11 this year. Joe was instrumental in forming this group, promoting music, and using his talents to spread good will. Joe helped start the group in 1995 when it was under the umbrella of The Wilkes Playmakers and Bob Johnston. In 2005 the group became an independent organization.
The hour long program includes some golden oldies (Unchained Melody and Catch a Falling Star),
songs of faith (Just a Closer Walk with Thee and A Miracle Man) and
familiar favorites (Ashokan Farewell and Love Me Tender).
Their motto is: "Seniors Singing for Seniors." since they sing at Senior Living Centers Regularly
The group practices weekly January through May at The Wilkes Senior Resources (Senior Center) in North Wilkesboro. For more information, call Tom Furr, President, at #336-667-7047, or
Laura Donovan, Director, at #336-818-0656.
