We are celebrating National Library Week with Library Ambassadors selected by the North Carolina Library Association. Three Wilkes County students entered a state-wide contest by submitting entries to proclaim the value of libraries. They and a parent will join NC library leaders in Washington, DC, to visit members of Congress who represent North Carolina. They will deliver the message in May of the importance of libraries in all of our state's communities.

Our winners are Ruth Ramirez and David Simmons, students at West Wilkes Middle School, and Alea Mitchell, student at Millers Creek Elementary School.

Join us at 5:00 on Tuesday, April 15 in the Friends of the Library Meeting Room to honor our Library Ambassadors. Light refreshments will be served. We congratulate Ruth, David, and Alea and appreciate their enthusiastic support of libraries!
