LOW COST Spay Neuter Assistance Program is subsidized by donations to the ALL VOLUNTEER Humane Society of Wilkes.

Assistance program is INCOME RELATED, so please bring some type of PROOF OF INCOME: Pay Check Stub, Bank Statement, Last Year Taxes, Social Security Award Letter, etc. We will accept just about anything that will allow us to determine your annual income. If you receive PUBLIC ASSISTANCE (Food Stamps, Medicaid) just bring your MEDICAID or EBT CARD and that will automatically qualify you for the program.

ANNUAL INCOME: At or below $15,000 - Dog or Cat Spay/Neuter $25

ANNUAL INCOME: $15,000 to $35,000 - Dog or Cat Spay/Neuter $35

ANNUAL INCOME: $35,000 or above - Voucher good for from $15 (Cat) to $30 (Dog) OFF the cost of Spay/Neuter at participating Vets. NOT necessary to bring any proof of income to receive this voucher.

LAW REQUIRES all pets to have a current RABIES VACCINATION. If your pet is NOT up to date there will be an additional cost of $9 for rabies vaccination.

Please be prepared to pay your total amount due upon sign up (cash or check only). You will then receive a voucher good at all participating vets. Make an appointment at the vet of your choice.

If you work nights or cannot drive after dark you can sign up for the assistance program at the Humane Society of Wilkes new building located next to the Dog Park in CUB CREEK PARK in Wilkesboro on MONDAY, WEDNESDAY and FRIDAY from 12 pm to 3 pm.

Also sign up at Ronda Town Hall on the FIRST and THIRD WEDNESDAY of every month from 6 pm to 7 pm. SEE SEPARATE POST HERE ON GO WILKES.

NOTE: NO arrivals after 645 pm taken, so please get there NO LATER than 645 pm since the library closes promptly at 7 pm and the paperwork takes from 10-15 minutes to complete.
