Spay Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP)

Public Event · by redyugobandit

Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014

Come on out to the library and sign up for financial assistance in getting your pet spayed or neutered. You will be helping reduce over population of unwanted pets in Wilkes County and your pet will live a longer, healthier life.

Program is INCOME RELATED so please bring with you some type of PROOF OF INCOME: Pay Check Stub (showing YTD earnings); Bank Statement; Last Years Taxes; Social Security Letter, etc. Anything that will allow us to determine that you meet income requirement of less than $35,000 per year. We do NOT keep or copy anything, just take a quick look. If you receive PUBLIC ASSISTANCE just bring your FOOD STAMP or MEDICAID CARD and that will serve as proof of income and automatically qualify you for the program. IF YOU EARN OVER 35K annually see NOTE below.

CATS and DOGS are $25 for spay/neuter. Since LAW REQUIRES all pets of have a current RABIES VACCINATION if you pet is NOT up to date there will be an additional cost of $7 for this vaccination making the total $32 per pet. No limit to the number of pets you can sign up to have fixed. You must be prepared to PAY THIS AMOUNT UPON SIGN UP (cash or check only).

You will then receive a VOUCHER that is accepted by ALL the local vet offices in Wilkes County. Call and make your pet an appointment and take this voucher with you on the day of your appt.

NOTE: If you earn over 35K annually as an incentive to help get your pet spayed or neutered we can issue you a voucher good for from $10 (cats) to $30 (dogs) OFF THE COST of the surgery at local vet offices (kind of like a coupon). It is NOT necessary to bring any proof of income to receive one of these vouchers. Just come by the library during regular sign up time.
