Portrait of Hope: A Talk by Artist and Domestic Violence Survivor Michelle Major

Public Event · by velocipede

Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015

Artist, advocate and domestic violence survivor Michelle Johnson Major will speak at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 25th in the Mayes Pit/Cohn Auditorium at Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro. In August 2008, Michelle Major's husband tried to murder her. Before strangling her unconscious, he took a butcher knife to ninety four of her paintings, destroying twelve years of artistic work. Major will display her artwork and share the compelling story of her journey from victim to survivor. For more information, please call SAFE, Inc. at (336) 838-9169.
