WILKESBORO, N.C. (Oct. 1, 2018) – As we move into the last few months of the year and the seasons begin to change, the chance for adverse weather conditions can increase. Although the hope is to not have to endure severe weather, it’s important to prepare for the unexpected, and wireless devices make it convenient to do just that. According to a recent U.S. Cellular survey, 51 percent of people use a phone to check the weather forecast1.

U.S. Cellular will host a free Device Workshop in Wilkesboro on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 9:00 a.m. at 1809 US Highway 421, where associates will recommend tips and apps to help you prepare for emergencies and stay informed during dangerous weather conditions. The workshop is open to everyone, and attendees do not need to be a U.S. Cellular customer to attend.

“We understand the importance of not only preparing for unpredictable weather but staying informed during an emergency,” said Nathan Waddell, director of sales for western North Carolina. “Our associates are available to assist people in using their devices to check weather and news applications, keep in touch with loved ones, and document essential photos and paperwork.”
