I have always liked Smiths for the firing pin being on the hammer. They have a faster lock time than a Colt and you can also dry fire them without using snap caps and not break the firing pin. I know the newer Smiths have went to the floating firing pin a mistake in my opinion. Rossi I think is the only revolver with the firing pin on the hammer made now.

Rosi bought smiths old tooling. The guns are made just like s&w good guns though. You can smooth the actions and make sweet guns out of them.

I saw a tshirt before that had a picture of one on it with the GE logo and the slogan "we bring good things to life". I saw one for sale at knob creek once that supposedly had been in a couple movies. $200k.

A friend of mine used to be a class 3 dealer and he show one that was sold several years ago that was fully transferable that went for 250,000

FINS, videos only, but sheesh, you could cut a forest down in minutes. I had a buddy that was in Viet Nam in the 60's. He said they had one in a cargo plane side door and would fly a circle with the guns blazing and there would be an area the size of a football field that was reduced to rubble. Our tax dollars at work.

Ya'll must have bought your Smiths from one of those special days where they were sprinkling magical fairy dust on the guns :P I have a 686 and a 586, neither of which are as good as the Pythons I've owned. Strangely enough, the best factory S&W trigger I ever had was on a late 60's model 36 j frame. I did have a NCSHP S&W 66-1 that Leonard worked on, now that was a superb gun. Someone waved a handful of cash in front of me and I let it go. That was one of those moments you later regret.
Eh, to each their own :)

I'm just glad the rabid, over zealous Glock fanboys haven't shown up. According to them, handguns were unreliable tinker toys made out of recycled bicycle frames before Gaston Glock came along.

The wife has a Glock 19 it's ok but I'll stick with my .45 cal. 1911 which I soon hope to convert to 45 super

Enjoy them while you can the new Surgeon Gen is going to ban regular ammo because its a toxic health hazard and the new green ammo if it is even allowed to be made will be out of the reach of regular gun owners it will be a rich mans toy Obama might not be able to ban guns but the ammo is not protected by the constitution

If the EPA can't regulate lead ammo I'm sure not worried about the Surgeon Gen.

I'm looking at a Ruger LC9s (Striker Fire) versus a S&W M&P Shield. Anyone have an opinion of those two guns?

Cuda I know the pythons were hand fitted until later on but give me a S&W any day. I have a 686 and 629 I sent to the performance center that are slicker better handling guns than a colt at half the price.
