Umm, to answer OP's question, Its not a good idea. That why there is a huge movement working to restore the political process back into the hands of the people.
Overturn Citizens United
Force politicians to publish campaign contributions (to include private speeches to Wall street)
Ensure peoples rights to vote.
Outlaw Gerrymandering.
Make election day a national holiday.
Make Election day a two-day event, but only Tuesday is a national holiday
