WHY DO YOU THINK THAT MANY MASS SHOOTERS PREFER THE AR 15 STYLE WEAPON?

Nope you are incorrect, There are AR pistols some with arm braces, But any AR rifle with a barrel lenght of less then
An AR-15 pistol has a barrel shorter than 16 inches this is the minimum legal length for a rifle barrel. The National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA) defines any rifle with a shoulder stock and barrel less than 16 inches in length and 26 inches in overall length to be a "short-barreled rifle" (SBR).
A SBR requires a class three to own

AR-15 "short barrels" are considered a "hand gun."

Well, let's ban that handgun also.

It is inaccurate to state that "mass shooters prefer the AR style."

Almost twice as many "mass shootings" have been committed by people armed with handguns than rifles.

Connie,
The fact that you either don't know or purposefully lied concerning the operation of the AR-15 which just happens to be one if not the most popular rifles ever sold in the US, which makes all of your other "I know" statements concerning firearms very suspect.

BTW -seems my comments "triggered" a few.

Go lift some weights or shoot some beer cans and get over it.

Connie with 1 statement proves how little she knows about firearms, especially the AR-15 and similar weapons.

You, sir, are entitled to your opinion, as I am entitled to mine.

I know what I know - and you know what you know.

I know what I know about weapons from handling them and shooting them. And I have handled and fired a few AR weapons. I actually shot better than the guns owner, which I found very funny. Granted he is an older white man who probably should not own the weapons for that very reason; because he does not see well.

There is no reason he purchased those weapons other than he had the $ and wanted them. Which was/is his right - but the likelihood that such a gun will ever be used to defend his family is zero. Statistics are more likely that the gun would get stolen and used illegally.

Were as shotguns fire multiple projectiles with one pull of the trigger

"I think a lot of people who love this gun simply have crappy aim and need a weapon that can fire more than 1 bullet at a time"

This is a completely inaccurate or worse purposefully false statement by Connie, the civilian AR-15 is a semiautomatic rifle that fires a single projectile with each pull of the trigger.

I prefer the combat shotgun with drum magazine.

I'm no expert, but ARs are popular because they are easily customizable, relatively inexpensive and reliable. I think American gun culture is generally pretty stupid and toxic but I also don't think the state should have a monopoly on violence. Moral panic seems to be very effective method of control for a certain subset of the population

Hey jester, coulda YOU give us a more specific definition for an AR 15 style weapon?

Connie

Posted 1:14 pm, 06/22/2022

I think a lot of people who love this gun simply have crappy aim and need a weapon that can fire more than 1 bullet at a time because they just can't shoot the side of a barn.

Another reason? They are compensating for many things in their lives that are, uhm....., insufficient.

A 3rd possibility? They get mad real easy and don't have the brain capacity to use words or patience for other methods to decompress.

The list I can compile goes on and on....I know people who own ARs and I cannot defend their reason for owning them other than when we go target practicing I am a waaaaaay better shot at 50 yards with a 22 than they are at 10 feet with a pistol.

The problem gun owners have with banning a particular gun is if they government can ban one gun they can ban them all.

If the shooter does not use a AR they'll use something else like a SUV during a parade.

We need find better ways to help the mentally ill.

It's not the guns fault , i

What is it about that particular weapon that so many of you worship? Why did you choose to purchase it over other guns, and why are you so worked up about the possibility that you may not be able to own one?

Does it have anything to do with the way it's marketed; the message promoting it?

Does it play into your own personal fantasy of payback or maximum damage?
