God's word is true. All the world's theories and so called wisdom is just foolishness with God. I can see all the disputers as they shook their heads as Noah continued to work on the Ark.
Matthew 24:
37But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

What made Noah righteous before God? Was Noah a sinless man? No, for all have sinned. Did Noah earn his righteousness? Not of works ,lest we boast. What was it then?
Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
Noah believed God.
Genesis 5: 29And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed.
The comfort that Noah was to comfort his fellow man with was having Faith in God's Word.If you want free from the curse that Adam's sin brought to mankind, believe what God's Word tells you, that he has redemption for you in Christ Jesus today, if you will believe him he has an Ark of deliverance for you.

I planted some grape vines, but I am not a farmer, I am a builder and a husbandman, I spent a lot of time raising children, but I could not be called a farmer, in that sense of the word.

Genesis 9:20And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard: It does not say that Noah was a farmer

Its speculation that from start to finish it is possible the flood lasted a year. Debates rise about ancient calendars
Which were more noted for following like modern day calenders seasons. Now their seasons differ as being religious seasons (i.e.) passover and such inclusively the absence of Easter as Jesus was not born nor dead then.

Numbers 21:
5And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. 6And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. 7Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. 8And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. 9And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.
This is exactly what Jesus was talking to Nicodemus about in John :3
These same people had the Law and Commandments just as Nicodemus had the Law and Commandments. The Law did not keep them from sinning against God, and could not atone for their sin. The one that was hung on a pole and represented their sin could atone for sin.
