Backwater you are talking about Grant Rhymer's Country Club. Arnell West ran it in the late '60's

It wasn't a bar but if you wanted a drink Jess McCarter would let you have one & sometimes two if he was in a good mood. Yet he had it to go, Canadian Mist, Kentucky Gentleman & one more "Head Buster" forget it. He passed several years back but was a super great guy.

Beeches Café was on 10th where there is a restaurant, now, right past it was Paige Stoker's place, where the library is, now, and, across the street was Amy's. On Main St, across from the Liberty, was Harold and Opal Blankenships café. On the corner of 6th and Main, catty corner from the chicken wings restaurant, was Sharkey Pardue's place. and across the street, about where the distillery is, now, was another beer joint, but, I can't remember the name.

Lets see there was Harrys Place, Hazels joint, Honeysuckle Hollow, small bar across from RR hardware forget name & then Benny Hayes in Mountain view to name a few. Yet back in the late 60s & 70s about anywhere you stopped was a bar or would be in a few minutes.
