I don't think so I think it is left up the individual departments. Maybe 168amax can tell us.

I'm just curious. Darwinism.
NC doesnt have a "don't chase" policy, does it

Wrong again I haven't said anything here I wouldn't say somewhere else. Sometimes the truth hurts and the fact is this guy is dead because he made a pisspoor decision. He broke the law and instead of acting like a man and stopping to take his punishment he ran like a criminal and paid for his poor judgment. Thank god that no one else was hurt because of his poor judgment and criminal acts.
I am curious if this was is first run in with the law or if he had a record already.

I guess family and friends feel the need to blame some else, but the fact remains he chose to run. After that its on him. Its a high stakes game and he lost

Was the attempted stop initiated just for speeding?

Yeah I don't have any respect for criminals who run from the law and put other people in danger or the people who make excuses for them.

You take a motorcycle which in this case probably 400 to 450 pounds and at around 1/4the width of a car on a 4 lane highway not drunk I doubt very seriously he’s going to hurt anyone else. The two trooper cars were far more likely to regardless of any high speed driving training. I didn’t say it was impossible for a motorcycle to injure a motorist but just slim chances. The last thing I think he wanted to do was hit a car at at high speed. Also the eradic driving began once the chase began which goes back to my original question of is it worth it to peruse. You fail a lot of tests Joseph one in particular just being a polite respectful human being.

A couple of you fail at physics a 4 or 5 hundred object travel at a high rate of speed will have a huge amount of energy. It is this build up of energy that causes damage in an accident

I had a semi totalled by a drunk on a motorcycle. Don't have a clue as to how great the bike was running but educated estimates put it at well over 100 mph. There was a definite imprint of his head

Just to remind, was it not in May of 2018 officers were chasing a Vehicle in Yadkin Co. an officer lost control during pursuit & lost his life? I respect all law enforcement, yet there has to be lines drawn/decisions made under these circumstances.. Pursue/Abort, **** for a violation/ticket just don't add up for a lost life.. Yet halting pursuit at high speeds MAY just stop a uncalled for death or maybe not.. Just these two examples prove **** to whomever is not worth it in any case...

Yes I have ridden a motorcycle and if you really think a motorcyclist can't wreck and hurt someone else just because it weighs less then you are as i.g.n.o.r.a.n.t as you sound when you try to make excuses that it is ok to run from the law because a motorcycle is different

This was probably not the first time to run and definitely would not have been the last time, had he not crashed. Obey the law, stop when blue light comes on, do not resist, do not flee, put your hands above your head, bend your neck when you are put in the back seat. It is really easy
