1048, what are you talking about? A county police force. How many officers do you think you will need for the size of Wilkes? The police officers salaries in the town are paid by the town. As far as professional, all officers are certified by the state of North Carolina. You are forgetting cameras in the cars and on their person. The officer can be tracked by cell phone, computer, and radio so I doubt they are parked somewhere hiding or goofing off. As far as judges, they are sitting there with a chart and it tells them what the punishment level will be if the department of corrections has room for new inmates. Finally this judicial district has one of the highest felony convictions in the state.

Nope you can look up the SBI crime stats if you wish. Tell me a county in Appalachia that doesn't have a drug problem while you are at it .Its not a political problem

Drugs are every where in our country, so bark up another tree. Our crime rate here is very low. Take a look at Iredell county if you don't believe it

That is something I have always been concerned about. Why should police enforcement be political? I wonder if all the illegal drugs in Wilkes has something to do with our sheriff being republican? However, North Wilkesboro has a lot of drugs also and North Wilkesboro is democrat. It seem Wilkes has a problem with both parties.
