I have difficulty understanding Answerseeker's motivations here.
AS seems to take pleasure in the failure of a business that was a pleasant diversion for many others.
The deli was a great place to grab a bite and meet friends, especially for lunch. I had only good experiences there.
My only regret is not having the Reuben on my last visit. Their Reubens were great.

Logistically, Sparkling could take his sorry *** to the front door of Aunt Betty's, the building could be wrapped in crime tape, caution tape, duct tape, Frog Tape, guarded by Chuck Norris and 15 ninjas and his sorry *** could still be on the GW.
That said,
We won.
You lost.
Pay up.
Goodfreakin'bye.

This was the part I question:
There is a weak excuse on the door about renovations (an old JC Faw ploy)
Is there really a note on the door about them being closed for renovations?
Another interesting thing I noticed, the county's tax site doesn't show anything for 532 Main Street, North Wilkesboro so they don't show who owns it.

Sparkling and I always win...
sparkling water (view profile) Posted 5:18 pm, 07/30/2017 I am just so pleased that Glitter and I didn't fall for that double the bet and extend the time to the end of the month.

"The bakery case is empty and the deli case has been evacuated"
well I would certainly hope so, why would you keep bakery items in the case to get stale and why in the world would you leave deli items to also go bad while the place is closed on the weekends?

hangsleft (view profile) Posted 1:21 pm, 07/06/2017 Apparently, Glitter has lots of time on her hands to prove the place is doing well. So suck it Answerseeker.

Ok Sparky, G&G and all others that ran their mouths about Uncle Bills...I went by this morn 7/30/17 and they have thrown in the towel, Closed, Kaput, Quit, Shut the doors ,whatever you want to call it.The bakery case is empty and the deli case has been evacuated like the Brits from Dunkirk, (now showing ). There is a weak excuse on the door about renovations (an old JC Faw ploy). I will still pay up..not sure any of you GoWilkes folks would, but I am sending Jason my $ and he will put it on here with the charity he has chosen. I was off by a few days...but I knew it was coming.I will keep my eyes and ears open and be looking for another bet if any of you care to take me up. As for the poster that told me to suck it (I couldn't`t find it within the thread) YOU SUCK IT BUDDY.

Awww, I hope the OP does pay up with a $100 donation to Samaritan's kitchen!!
But I still disagree with OP about this business not lasting.
Does anyone know if they make a German Chocolate cake? I have a friend visiting from out of town for her birthday and apparently German Chocolate cake is her birthday tradition.

Thank you all.
I am happy to limit all future wagers so as to benefit Samaritans Kitchen. Even those who lose the wager win by contributing to a worthy cause. Perhaps we can establish rules that allow a dedicated thread for such wagers and multiple participants. I'm sure there are some issues that are appropriate for such wagers and some that are not. The GW community is probably a good judge of such.
Peace and cannolis to all.

Ok Sparky....I will send Jason the $100 by US mail and I ask that he post that he got it. I still say that this establishment won`t make it, but I guess it is a moot point in regards to our wager.. A bet is a bet, even a cyber bet, between anonymous strangers...and I am a man of my word.

I expect you to forward $100 to Jason to be donated to charity. (I suggested a Food Bank as befits a bet involving food.)
Perhaps Jason will be kind enough to confirm that you have paid up and share that the Food Bank has been blessed by our little game.
FWIW, I actually quite like this idea. We've held several fundraisers in the past for Samaritan's Kitchen, and while we haven't had a chance to do one in the last few years I still consider them to be a critical non-profit for the county.
I don't really like the "loser gives up their password" bet, but one that benefits the needy? I can get on board with that.
Next time this comes up, we should create a new thread to come up with official rules.
