Trumps Wall

According to Border Patrol reports, for the first five year's of o'bummer's rein, they have apprehended 2.15 million illegals attempting to cross over. There is no way to determine the efficiency of that effort. Several times more illegals are successful at entering and must be dealt with. Given the lax enforcement by o'bummer, 2.5 million deportations so far, just means that the problem is getting worse, not better, with several millions still here.

Trump is supposed to meet with the Mexican president today. I hope he brings up the $4.25 PER DAY MIMIMUM WAGE IN MEXICO, that is one big factor forcing poor unskilled folks to invade our border.

I also disagree with Mexico paying for the wall. If we want a wall, we should pay for it. And make it pretty!

Of course a wall will not eliminate illegals, but so long as it is pretty, I don't mind my taxes going to the wall.

So long as it is a pretty wall, I don't mind. The Parkway is lovely and was a huge project, I just want a pretty wall. China's wall is so pretty and folks take photos there everyday, just because it is such a Great Wall!

And just to kick you while your down a large percentage of illegal immigrants somewhere between 40 to 60% depending on who you ask do not even come here illegal they come legally and then overstay their visas. What's a wall going to do about that? Not a **** thing.

The best estimates put somewhere around 2.5 million illegal crossings over the Obama administration. A figure lower than the total crossings under Bush. Back in the good old days of W we had 500k to 600k entering each year. Go on enjoy doing the math on that. can't math allow me then. Anywhere from 4 million to 4 million 800 thousand under W.

I can keep breaking your little fantasy bubble all day but the point here is we've had a lower rate of illegal entry into the US and higher deportations under Obama than the previous 8 under Bush. And yet you still want to try and play the Obama is weak on immigration card. Its laughable and you deserve nothing but complete ridicule for it.

I can guess math is not exactly your strong suit so let me put this in terms you might grasp.

Obama fewer people getting in illegally

Obama more people here illegally being deported.

Only in your sad little head can that translate into Obama is not doing anything about the immigration problem.

Talk about fuzzy data, "deportations up 23% under o'bummer"

This false metric neglects to include the RATE of deportation. Given the illegal alien surge through our southern border during his terms and peaking somewhere's north of 14 million still here, simple math would yield a success ratio of less than 20%.

This surge is the direct result of of o'bummer's lack of enforcement of established law and largess offered as incentive. Removing the illegals he inherited in 2009 from the equation still yields a success ratio of less than 40%, hardly a passing grade.

There are still 2 here out of every 3 he let in.

Another interesting comparison is accepting the official reports that roughly half the Hispanic population currently here, over half are illegal aliens.

That means that no matter where you go, half the ones you see, regardless of their circumstances, should not be here.

Thematic Idiot might be a better name for you. Really consider it.

First lets start with Obama's supposed non enforcement of the existing laws. Really?

Lets have a few facts shall we.

Obama's government has deported more than 2.5 million peopleup 23% from the George W. Bush years.

Hows that for not enforcing the law but wait it gets better.

Obama is now on pace to deport more people than the sum of all 19 presidents who governed the United States from 1892-2000,

So how about those immigration laws? Look hes not enforcing them so hard hes breaking enforcement records and then some.

Trumps wall is a stupid idea.
I could detail all the issues with the idea that technology can just augment that.

But considering you just stupidly complained about the current president not enforcing the existing laws. You know the President who is doing more to enforce the laws than any single one of them in the last 100 years and is on track to do more than most of them combined I don't think reality is able to reach you.

I used to live in Southern Arizona. The border is a total joke. But worse, Obama's non enforcement of existing laws, has become an open invitation for illegals, including criminal cartels and gangs. Wide-freakin' open!

Trump's wall will be only one facet of immigration control. Technology will augment monitoring. Just enforcing laws as written, would be a big improvement over hussein.

I look forward to trump negotiating with central American countries to create more opportunities for their citizens there, as a disincentive for them to flee here.

Many opportunities for outside the box thinking, that have been totally squandered by past regimes.

Now about the wall Trump suggest

If we go by what few details he has provided it would be a 30 foot steel reinforced concrete wall measuring 1000 miles in length.

Trump estimates the cost anywhere from 5 to 10 billion depending on is mood that day it seems.

The actual base construction cost for such a wall is at least 50 billion and likely more.

In addition such wall has a maintenance cost that within a decade will exceed the cost to build it in the first place.

The wall would not cover the entire US Mexico boarder that would require a wall of nearly 2000 miles and a minimum of 100 billion dollars in construction costs again likely more.

Would this wall be remotely effective?

Methods to cross the wall include

Ladders and Rope with a 2 to 3 minute crossing time.

Tunnels with a minute or 2 crossing time.

Explosives crossing time depending on fuse delay.

Just going around the wall.

In short at most such a wall would impose a couple of minutes of convince be an insane waste of tax payer money not just today but for future generations and is the dumbest idea anyone has put forward ever for immigration policy.

In a later post I will deal with the possibility that Mexico would pay for this idiotic wall. But to sum it up there is absolutely zero chance of this.

Because we all know no one ever escapes from prison right?

The function of a prison fence is not to stop an escape the design function is to slow down escape attempts that's it. In this they are generally effective provided they are properly guarded.

Building that wall is gonna be way too much work. Now if Trump can get the Mexicans to pay for it and build it I'm in.

You build two wall/fences like they use around prisons. Leave a couple of feet between them, with the last one electrified with around 10,000 volts. That should stop most anything trying to get across.

Crypt

The Crypt wire would be more effective.

The idea of a wall to secure our boarder works for many. And why not fantasy has shown us walls are great but what is the reality?

First lets look at walled cities of the past.

Function: To stop invading armies and buy time for reinforcements.

Effectiveness: Reasonable against military formations

Weakness: Individuals or small groups could easily penetrate the wall and often did.

The point being that despite the fantasy most of these walled cites fell when someone would slip in and bribe the guards at a gate or a small group would slip in and take it. Walls did a great job as causing problems for large attacking forces but very little to stop individuals.

How about the great wall of China famous for keeping out the mongols right? Except no not really. Getting past the wall into China was not that difficult and happened frequently. What the wall did do was slow down raiders attempting to make their return trips laden with loot and captives. This would give defending forces time to respond. So raiders would breach the wall sack a village load up on loot and head home only to find the army waiting for them at the wall. This did eventually discourage raids into China however its success is not compatible with our border security needs. This is the basics on how walls worked in the past in the next post I will look at the proposed Trump wall itself
