He did the crime and paid the time that the court gave him. Now it is time for him to move forward...life goes on.

I had forgotten all about that. It wasnt that long ago was it? If the ans has already been posted, forgive me. I feel for the family of the youngsters. Have to say though that hard as it is, life must go on. Hopefully he will do more with the life he has left.

Interesting (mis)information:

Periodot: So it is politically incorrect for him to ever laugh again? You must also be one of those people who make sniping remarks when at a funeral or wake they see loved ones of the deceased laugh and whisper about how inappropriate that is. Clearly Carr can't really be sorry if he can

StressRelief: Huh?
If you're saying Carr had or comes from "money" you are mistaken. His salary was nothing to write home about. Race helped? Actually his sentence was severe by NC standards for a first time offender.

Carr's victim was Casey Bokhoven. By all accounts a young man full of promise, liked by all, and the kind of person we think about when we say "what a waste". Just walking home and out of nowhere comes a truck and he didn't stand a chance. If further punishing Carr could bring him back or replace his family's sense of loss I'd be all for it. I found Carr to be talented and a good announcer. Frankly I don't think I could watch him now without seeing Bokhoven's face, that doesn't mean he should be banned from the air. It just means I would have a problem watching him.

I doubt there's much the judicial system can do to punish Carr beyond what has already been done. The rest is up to Carr and all indications are he has suffered greatly because he genuinely feels the horror of what he has done. It was a horrible thing that can't be undone. It'd be nice to find some meaning in this situation, I've certainly been unable to do it. Further punishment of Carr won't make it any better.

No Im talking about the man that hit the Wake Forest students in WS and they died. They were also drinking and driving at the time. But the Law had just been passed about DUI and death. So they made an example out of him.The man that died at Carrs hand was not driving or even on the road.

stress, who are you referring to? that man who got in an accident where a couple died?

I know, They brought in a special judge for Carr. He got a light sentence due to being a public fuigure and his color. That is my thought anyway.

Stress we the people didn't sentence either one of those men. No two people will serve the same sentence for the same crime. I suppose you will have to ask the judges who sentenced them why .

What about the man that got life without the possible parole for the same crime.????Just where do you see the justice in that????

I have come to realize that there could never be a more harsh punishment than his own memories and concience. He will have to live w/ what happened every day of his life.

I know people that have been in somewhat similar circumstances (minus the alcohol) and there is not a day that goes by that they do not remember that awful moment and knowing that nothing they can ever do could ever change what happened.

Always enjoyed him on WXII and glad to see he is trying to rebuild his life and someone is at least giving him the chance to do that. So many want to condem and hate and wisper behind eveyone's back forever for a major mistake. We are all human and I have made my share, nothing as bad as his but I know he lives with it every day of his life.
