Justice Scalia was an intensely partisan individual. (I'm not saying that's good or bad...I believe history, however, will be quite decisive in its judgement on the matter. This is an individual, you know, who compared h*mosexuality to murder. I guess in a non-political way, huh?) I would assume his staunch support of a certain brand of politics wouldn't be something he would want whitewashed after his untimely demise. I would assume he would rather embrace it.
Anyway. RIP Justice Scalia.

"That's probably one of the most naive things I've ever read on gowilkes. Sweet, though."
What was naive about the post? Please. Be specific. Enlighten me so that I may emerge from my naivety.

I hope that Justice Scalia's spot is filled with someone who strives to ensure that the Constitution and Rule of Law supersede personal and political ideology and ambition. "Conservative" and "Liberal" aren't terms that should apply to Supreme Court Justices in their official capacity. I don't care how the individual may vote on election day. The individual has a right to express themselves and their personal beliefs as they see fit on election day. However, when they are voting as a Supreme Court Justice, their vote should not be based on politics, personal beliefs, political persuasion or any other bias that would serve to defile the position in which they serve.
"It is political. One can't help if the mind instantly jumps to that. It occurred to the dems as well. Senate leader says "next president", democrats already fighting wanting a vote on that."
It shouldn't be political. Regardless of one's political ideology, one should neither support nor reject the appointing of a Supreme Court Justice (or any other judge) based on the individual's personal political leanings. It is offensive to me that it is even an issue.
"RIP Justice Scalia. Condolences to his family. But separating the Justice from the political seems silly."
You're saying it seems silly seems silly. You stupid **** that try to politicize the appointment of a judge are taking a big fat crap on the Constitution and the work of this Nation's Founding Fathers. It's a dangerous mindset that invites bias and legal discrimination.
R.I.P. Justice Scalia.

Mr. Trump will be the one to make the nomination and it will be Sarah Palin. Both of the two Corinthians in the bible would be pleased.

But separating the Justice from the political seems silly. He was never **** letting his politics be known in his life. It's like Robin Williams dying and someone saying nobody can mention comedy.

What does someone on other websites have to do with comments on here? A Supreme Court justice is dead let us show a bit of respect. Hopefully we are better than this, but I could be wrong.

|
I doubt you really believe the statement A TRUE MODERATE NOMINATION from this administration. Republicans will sit on this till after November. Is that wrong? That's up for debate but that's what they should do politically speaking.

FOX is talking about him and showing clips of his life and times. He looks like he was a happy warrior. And chunky too.

I'm kind of embarrassed that the first thing I thought of was political implications.
