I have nothing against Rossi I own a few myself but the quality is not there like the older Smith's.

Rosie bought all of smiths used tooling.

They are pretty much the same gun as the smith and Weson. The tolerances are just not as tight.

No, the x-frame was made after smith made the change to frame mounted firing pins and safety lock. I think Rossi is the only revolvers made with the firing pin on the hammer currently.

Do you know why this is.

Did S&W make any X frame 500s with the firing pin on the hammer or were they all made after the change over to the internal firing pin?
