I guess you missed the disclaimer on your own link?
Anyway, the NAACP supported Geo Wallace, historical fact; contrary to your implication.
It's not that hard to admit that you were wrong, is it?

cassidy fails in research.
Recalling that the democrats were the party of the KKK.
From wikipedia:
Failed run for governor
In 1958, Wallace ran in the Democratic primary for governor. Since 1901 and the state's effective disfranchisement of blacks and many poor whites, the Democratic Party was virtually the only party in Alabama, and the party primary was the real competitive contest. This was a political crossroads for Wallace. State Representative George C. Hawkins of Gadsden ran, but Wallace's main opponent was state attorney general John Malcolm Patterson, who ran with the support of the Ku Klux Klan, an organization Wallace had spoken against. Wallace was endorsed by the NAACP. Wallace lost the nomination by over 34,400 votes.[13]

HA! Osmosis rails against government control of our lives, yet would deny a woman her own decisions over her reproductive choices. Would deny gays the right to control who they can marry. Socialism......HA! Why do you think Medicare, SS. Interstate Highway System, public libraries, postal service, police and fire dept. I suspect you enjoy and use some of these. Unions? I bet you enjoy your 40 hr work week, overtime, holiday pay, public schools, 8 hr work day......because EVERY benefit you enjoy today at work, you can thank thousands of union workers who marched and protested for workers rights.

I see a correlation in what we have today with what happened in the 60's with Wallace in Alabama. I know that segregation is wrong but Bobby Kennedy sent federal goons down to Alabama and forced the government and people of that state to accept something that was against their beliefs. The NAACP supported George when he first ran for governor. He was standing up for the rights of the people of his state. Holder and his goons and judges are forcing us to accept things that we don't believe. Has times changed or are we just going full circle?

When I was young I too followed the crowd and registered Democrat like my father. In the late 70's, after Carter I saw much change come to this party. They started pulling in all these factions as their platform that I was opposed to. I oppose Abortion, Gun Control, the gay lifestyle, and government control of every aspect of our lives. The Democratic Platform as it is today looks to me more like socialism than anything else. Their association with Unions looks like the bully tactics that unions have always used. If my father, a Democrat all his life, could see what the Democrats have turned into I know he would oppose most of what they do. I didn't vote for Carter in 76.

You people speak of Obama like he's a newborn baby innocent as the falling rain. He is corrupt as Nixon and has put this country in a hole so deep our grand children will never be able to climb out of. I don't care if you're democrat or republican stop taking up for this brainless failure.

Skeptic you nailed it! Funny I never thought of that before but you are so right. I wondered what happened to the Democratic party. It was 'taken over.' I have known some fine Democrats in the past but that was many years ago.
