How does this profile fit Michaelhjsr He is an older man now, that worked hard all his life. He didn't have much formal education. Didn't have much time for religious things until later in life when he begin to think about what his mama had always told him, son you keep the commandments now. So as he neared retirement age, and the everyday aches and pains began to set in, he thought more about the here after, and where he would spend eternity when he died. So he got himself a bible you know one of them easy to understand bibles, like the living bible. And he decided to go to church some, just happened the one he picked out was a little to spiritual for his taste, and didn't stress keeping the commandments all that much, so he left. He started watching tv preachers and soon found one he kind of agreed with. He had begun to get on the internet some and found a few forums that he could post on, Soon he started to believe that he knew more about this religious stuff than almost anyone else. Its a perfect place for him, he does not have to discuss his beliefs with anyone face to face, he is not under a Pastor who could help him when he gets off track, and he can run in circles when pressed for Bible truth. He can dodge questions that would expose him, and refuse to take some time to really study the Holy Bible the Word Of God. Part of his defense is to throw barrages of insults and condemnation at anyone who tries to help him.

And when you get to the cross, you stop, if you followed him on you would have to die like he did, then his Shed Blood would be applied to you. Then you could be resurrected to new life.

let I'm so happy you have read the BIBLE. Why DON'T you pay attention to the WORDS that Jesus spoke. Because I’ve actually studied Church History. Christianity isn’t Catholic. It is catholic, though. There is one, universal body of Christ. But, Roman Catholicism came about 400 years after Christ. The core doctrines of scripture obviously date back to scripture itself. You actually argue in favor of Rome by granting to them such antiquity. I am Protestant. I come from the tradition that protested Rome and argued to take our faith back to be defined by scripture alone. Sola Scriotura. So I ask you, why can’t you understand that?

I will be honest here, I have wanted to just let michaelhjsr go on his way and not ever say anything more to him, I am supposing it is a male we are dealing with, sometimes I wonder, by the all the shifting back and forth and running in circles. Most men don't use those tactics, never the less I feel that the Lord wants to reach him with the Gospel, because every soul is priceless to the point that Christ Jesus would have come here and given his life for just one, so that soul would not have to spend eternity lost and separated from our Heavenly Father. That is how much our Father loves fallen mankind. And besides maybe someone else has followed along and can see a little how much they are loved and wanted by our Saviour.

Michael, I really think your Pentecostal Holiness upbringing is causing a lot of these problems. You make comments that show that you really have never interacted with branches of Christianity outside of that area. I get the feeling that some hypocrisy or something that you witnessed turned you against the church, but Christianity does not teach that you can "do as you please." Quite the opposite. Christianity teaches that the Holy Spirit changes the will of man. He enables us to obey, but also recognizes that even if our obedience were perfect, it still could not obtain salvation. Salvation is wholly of God and God Alone. He saves and keeps his saved.
I know I have been annoyed with you in the past and have maybe even been mocking of you, but I really do honestly hope that you will attempt to actually understand the doctrines of Christianity. Your experience seems to have been limited to the Pentecostal Holiness movement and some of those teachings still color your perspectives. Take some time and read through the 1689 Second London Baptist Confession of Faith. See what, historically, Baptists believed. Read the Westminster Confession or the Augsburg Confession or the Heidelberg. See what historic, biblical Presbyterians, Lutherans, and other Reformed Churches taught. Read the Puritans.

1047 its got to do with truth. Truth is the Christian Religion is a man made RELIGION. You can talk and do as you please but until you make that COMMITMENT to Jesus and only Jesus. You will never find him. Jesus said a sinner is a servant to sin. You know what sin is. Transgressions against the law. Now you have KNOWLEDGE of Sin and how to combat it. Why can't you trust in Jesus?. Satan HASN'T got CONTROL of you. If its in YOUR heart to sin you will. But if you OBEYED Jesus in times of TEMPTATION you would not have sinned. You know how I know?" Jesus he would never leave me. Jesus gives me His POWER to keep myself Saved. Its THROUGH Faith in Jesus you can overcome Satan when he comes to your door. So because Jesus said to this man who was not trying to keep laws, that his sin was forgiven, and you are claiming because of what he said to this man, that your sin are also forgiven, is that right? Sounds like Grace to me if you make a conscious decision to follow the Saviour that your sin will be forgiven.
Alright we are getting somewhere now, Your sin is forgiven because of the Grace of God, and because you believe on him by Faith.
Hopefully you will see that Christ Jesus forgives sin to people who have no ability to help themselves.

Michael, are you saying that Jesus does not know who belongs to him until they express their faith in time? So Jesus, who is God, has limited knowledge and learns as he goes? He cannot know the ends from the beginning as scripture clearly states? Are you really ready to limit the knowledge of God to the actions of his creatures?

Your faith is not in Christ, it is in YOU and What you can do.
Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
You are still trying to do flesh works, religious works of the Flesh, You have Not been born of the Spirit so as the scripture says, you are not his.
John 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
Hurry and paste something over this and try to hide it.
