Mtnbiker (view profile) Posted 7:03 pm, 07/03/2012 A nice touch of class doing the funeral so quickly. That way much less of the public fanfare and exploitation by the media. Much more dignified doing things quietly, quickly.
I agree...very dignified.

Mr Griffith was a man who bought to life a character that will be loved for many years after his death. Why can't you just leave it at that Canes? Dang why does everything have to be about politics?

My husband was buried 24 hours after he died. He was not embalmed and was buried in a wood pine casket. He was Jewish.

paintwarrior548 (view profile) Posted 4:13 pm, 07/03/2012 He has already been laid to rest. He was buried around 11:30am on his family farm in Roanoke Island. BUT I didn't know it's legal in North Carolina to bury people without embalming them. Intresting fact. Saves on the funeral bill I suppose.
It is legal as long as they are buried within 24 hours of the time of death.

Andy reminded us all of a simpler time in our history. You could trust your neighbors, never lock your door & if you had a disagreement with someone you sat down & talked to them. No one came to blows & no one certainly shot anyone else.
Wouldn't it be nice if those same things applied today?
RIP Andy

Publically Andy spoke of religion, family, and hard work. He was really a strong conservative or acted like one. Why did he associate with the party that stood for the opposite? Like many actors living in a fantasy world he probably had difficulty distinguishing between fantasy and real world. Either that or he was sleeping with Bev.

Margie Phelps, daughter of the founder of Westboro Baptist Church announce today that the group plans on protesting at Andy Griffith's funeral.
I guess ole Andy pulled one over on them.

If you can only appreciate someone's talents because they share the same politics with you, then that says a lot more about you than the person you're attempting to denigrate.

If you have never seen the movie
A FACE IN THE CROWD
It is worth your time to see how evil a character he could portray. You won't believe it at first.
