I look at the world from a very simple point of view. Some people have been convinced by thousands of years of social conditioning that some people have benefits just by being born. This concept has been reinforced by the concept of gods. In reality each person has the right to do as they please, gods or no gods. Take my bloodline. The same blood that runs in my body also ran in Kings and Queens. However, I am not special. I am just a man with the natural right to take what I can control. Just like every other human and life form in the universe.

I think that we ended up agreeing on the voting issue, though, and I don't know anyone that really disagrees. The electoral college no longer makes sense, but without a new Constitutional Convention to change how we handle elections... I don't think it will change in my lifetime.

We have gotten way off he subject here.

What difference does it make who you go after, if you get your way? Who says you have to murder anyone? You need to give some consideration into the concept of real power. You can be homeless with out a dime and still be the most powerful person in the world. You are thinking that laws and rules control us. We chose to be controlled in order to live with each other. What happens when you meet someone who chose to not live with each other. You had better have some way of defending yourself.

Agree to disagree, 1048 I believe that you can have all the guns you want, if I control your income then it really doesn't matter.

The problem with your logic, though, is that there's never a single person to go after. Look at your mortgage, for example. You feel like you've been cheated, so you decide to murder somebody. Who do you go after? The tellers that take your payment? The local bank manager? Do you go to their headquarters and shoot all of the Board members? In any of those cases (assuming you get away with the murder, of course), someone else just takes their place and you have the same problem.

Money is paper. Paper will burn. If you disarm yourself I will give you 100 billion dollars. Then any time I want your money I just use my little 22 and take it from you. You assume money is power. The ability and will to take a life is power.

Saudi Arabia could squash us like a bug! They're one of the richest nations in the world (14th richest) that could easily ally with Qatar (the richest) and the UAE (7th richest). We come in at 12th richest, but there's no way that we could fight a Muslim alliance that combined controls the majority of the money in the world.

Who would even ally with us? The UK is leaving us, Iraq is leaving us, and we're barely on speaking terms with China.

We don't have to actually pay China and we can just take SA oil.

I kind of think that the old concepts of war are quickly dying. They obviously still exist, but I think it's more for show.

Think of it like this. China owns 9.1% of our debt right now. Which would hurt us more, dropping a bomb somewhere or calling in those chips?

Saudi Arabia is another good example. They supply 11% of our crude oil, so which hurts us more: a terrorist attack that kills 10 people, or cutting off the oil and gas prices skyrocket?

You see, a gun does little or nothing in this modern era... you could murder one leader, but then he just becomes a martyr and is quickly replaced by someone just as bad (or worse). Like Pence replacing Trump, and then guaranteeing the GOP the next election with someone even more Authoritarian.

But you build a coalition that hurts the US economy, and you've done something.

He is President. He controls the military and most police. He picks who enforces and interprets the law. He wasn't picked by the people. He got rich and purchased the Presidency.

I agree that there's no obligation to keep a failed system for the sake of tradition, but I strongly disagree that it requires a gun to do it. Take Trump, for example. You can't deny that he has changed the US and the world, and has probably never touched a gun in his life.

People need to learn that the Constitution is just a piece of paper. Laws are just words written on paper. Paper burns. Real power comes from the barrel of a gun in the hands of a hard heart. Be prepared to kill for your freedoms or lose them.

I think I am saying we need to change the system we have now. I have never been a person who accepts a situation just because someone who thinks they are in power thinks I should.

One year an independent candidate ran. I know at least 12 people who said they voted for him. Yet, when the votes were counted the counters said only 3 people voted for him in my district. For some reason 9 votes were not counted. Who knows how many more was not counted.

It's also possible that 9 people lied because they didn't want to be bullied or intimidated. But in the end it doesn't matter because 9 votes wouldn't have made a difference one way or the other.

And you wonder why we want to keep our guns.

... are you saying that you think you should have the right to murder people because you don't like the outcome of the election?

And you wonder why we think there should be some restrictions!

If our votes don't count why do we waste so much time and money?

Good question, but I don't have the answer. As we saw with Hillary, 3 million more people voted for her than for Trump, but it didn't matter.

I'm not a fan of the electoral college, either, but that's what we have. I understand that the Constitutional Convention of 1787 chose this system because, in part, they believed that the voters were too ignorant to know what they were doing, and this gave them a backup plan. But I don't know that it's still necessary today.

I have always wondered why Russia didn't vote for the incumbent Communist in office already. Why would they have supported a Capitalist like Trump? I believe we have been lied to by the Democrats. There was no Collusion.

Without one person, one vote and an open non-secret ballot we are not really a free people. If we can't pick our leaders and know we did, we are not free.
