Why go to CHURCH?
Excuse NOT to go: Churches impose a bunch of rules and then make you feel guilty if you don't measure up.

Answer: One of the biggest reasons for the breakdown of families is the lack of moral standards. Most people who call themselves Christians cannot even say the Ten Commandments much less live by them. Without moral standards, it is easier to do your own thing and not feel guilty about it. Guilt is part of our conscience and is a gift from God to help us do good.

It is true that sometimes people make us feel guilty?. During these times it is important to seek God's view through prayer and reading the Bible. This means it is necessary to be familiar with the Bible enough to discern whether others are making us feel guilty or if God is trying to get our attention. I am convinced that there are many Christians who are doing good works out of guilt rather than because they want to love and serve God.

THE LONE RANGER SAID To many inconsistencies in religion.religion teaches Christ was crucified on a Friday and was risen on Sunday morning. Christ said he would be 3 days and nights An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale's belly, so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth" (Mt 12:40)

Lone says "it must be rough to be religious". it's sure rough if any inconsistency in the Bible will keep you from accepting even the possibility of something greater, of an unseen world beyond this one. If you search for inconsistencies in the Bible, you'll find them. But God is bigger than that. Jesus was real. He did give his life for our sins. And all you need to do to be welcomed into the next world is accept him. Then, that "personal relationship" you've heard so much about awaits. It's up to you. Ask, and you will be received. With, or without Tonto.

This line is great.

"If I believe that you are in the road and that a truck is bearing down on you and that you don't believe it...

there is a certain point THAT I TACKLE YOU...

and this is EVEN MORE IMPORTANT THAN THAT. "

Why Go To Church?
Every Sunday many people go to church while others are sleeping or engaged in other weekend activities. Since our weekends are limited, should we spend part of it in church? Let's look at some of the popular reasons for not going first.

Excuse: Church is boring.

"It is repetitious, predictable and a meaningless ritual. I would rather sleep in. I work hard all week and I deserve it!"

Answer: Church is repetitious but so is life. The days of our lives are structured around cycles of work, eating, family and recreation times. Any of these activities can become boring if we don't strive to find something interesting or enjoyable about them. Sunday mornings at church are a time to make new friends and renew old ones; to learn about the Bible and share problems as well as to thank God for another week of life.

The objective in going to church is to seek to build our relationship with God and others. Many people go to church to fulfill an obligation through some ritual and so are reduced to actions without meaning. Church worship is all about an encounter with God and others that changes who we are. Not going to church on a Sunday morning because you deserve a sleep-in does not explain why you miss church on Saturday or Sunday night. The problem is much deeper than the time of the day -could it be a matter of selfishness?

Excuse
: Church is unnecessary since private prayer and Bible study can be done without others.

Answer:The Bible says that believers must not keep apart from other believers (Hebrews 10:24-25). It is true that we are influenced and become like the people we associate with. Also, by getting together, common beliefs are affirmed and ways to overcome problems are shared. There are three spiritual pillars to have a strong Christian life: personal prayer, Bible study and fellow believers. To rely on less than all three is like trying to sit on a one or two-legged stool. Three legs are needed for a firm foundation and proper function.

Yeah, Like Jesus NEVER preached to ANYONE.

WHat if Jesus kept his relationship with God personal just him and the father?

bigfoottinytoes you said this in a previous post on a different topic
Like Jesus, I am in church where ever I am. I don't need your buildings. Just an open field, a bend in the river, a street conor or my back porch is all I need to talk to God.

JESUS SAID IN MATTHEW 28:19-20GOTO THE PEOPLE OF ALL NATIONS AND MAKE THEM MY DISCIPLES, BAPTIZE THEM IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER ,SON, AND HOLY SPIRIT. AND TEACH THEM TO DO EVERYTHING I HAVE TOLD YOU , AND I WILL BE WITH YOU ALWAYS , EVEN TO THE END OF THE WORLD.
ACCORDING TO THIS VERSE ARE YOU SURE THAT YOU ARE LIKE JESUS AND DOING WHAT HE WANTS YOU TO DO??
also it sounds like you are giving an opinion of YOUR RELIGION doesn't it ??
ARE YOU SURE YOU READ MY PREVIOUS POST THOROUGHLY ABOUT WHY GO TO CHURCH ??
I'll repeat them incaese you didn't.

BigFoot, please keep your personal opinions to yourself and allow others to share the good news. Why do you want to keep people from hearing the goodnews?

1Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. 2 So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we dont know where they have put him!

Sun Rise services just don't make sense. It was still dark when Mary got to the tomb..
I'm through must be ruff to be religious.

When my kids were little we had a lady that liked to scare the children and would not stop harassing our family. It got bad enough that we had to call the police. I don't blame it on her faith, she was just unbalanced. It happens.

I was trying to make a point that people who come knocking your door uninvited and those people who come up to you in public places asking personal questions which assume you are a total sinner, are just creepy. They are like sexually perverted creeps. With the exception of the JW all I have had contact with are loony. They hit you with threats of ****, then in almost the same senance spit out hate for muslims, gays, liberals and minorities.

I totally agree with Radio...it's a point I was trying to make on here several months ago. I don't want to hear about someone's commitment to God ad nauseum, I believe it when I SEE it. Actions speak louder than words.

I've never been ministered to at Wal-Mart, unless you count collecting for Salvation Army over the holidays! And who could possibly have a problem with that?

However, Wal-Mart does make me pray...that nothing of the cheap Chinese crap there will cause lead poisoning, or other harm to my health, my home...or anyone else's!

RadioGiant

In my opinion, if you want to "minister" to others, there's no better way than finding a need and filling it...finding a problem and solving it.

My cousin is a foreign missionary. Rather than spending lots of time knocking on people's doors telling them that their beliefs are wrong, they spend their time abroad finding needs in the communities they visit, and doing something about them. Digging wells, fixing bridges, providing books for schools, distributing medical supplies. When you travel to a foreign land, and the first thing you do is offer to pitch in and help, that's a far more powerful "witness" than words. People want to know where such love and generosity comes from. And there is your opening to share your faith.
