I think we are getting close to solving the eternal question. Wouldn't that be great if us little Gwers stumbled across the answer? LOL.
I am ashamed to admit that when I was thinking of us solving the eternal question, the very first thought that went through my brain was: "How could I market it, and make money from it." I am ashamed.

I totally understand manicmama....and agree!
I hope to whatever energies or energy is out there in the netherworld...that Billy the kitty has a soul...cause I'm gonna need some company in Never Never Land, and I prefer him and a dog named Baron!!!!

We have emotional attachments to things, objects, much in the same way music can move us or remind us of past experiences. Even smells cause this.
We're very sentimental creatures that react when something pulls on our proverbial heart strings.

Music may have been a bad example.. UBB will understand what im saying though... He gets it. Im not just meaning the emotion...there's something else when you really relate to or love a song...

I don't think being able to have/show/feel true emotion has anything to do with having a soul. It's all neurological.

Zombie...let's use music as an example... When you hear a song that just reaches your very core.. maybe even makes you cry... Don't you feel like that song is touching your soul?

I have a soul, my beloved dog does not, my yard flowers not only don't have a soul but sadly have very little chance at a happy life here on earth .

Opinions, opinions. When your brain dies everything that makes you who you are dies with it. All feelings you've ever felt began and ended in your brain, excuse me while I put my brain in a fry pan with an egg or two.

I'm not so sure about a " soul " per se, but there is an energy within all of us that makes us who we are. Before my mom passed away, she was totally unresponsive, no reflexes, pupils fixed and dilated. She remained this way for several hours. Her eyes were open, but... they were different. Whatever it was that made her who she was was already gone, if that makes any sense.

Do you have a soul? Does your pet? Do the flowers you planted in your yard have a soul?
Regardless of what else you believe, or what religion you call yourself.
