Real tragedy of border crisis.

"Liliana was kidnapped at age 11 from her village in Central America. After two years of grooming her for commercial sex... 'Had there been a wall for me,' she declared, 'my captors would have been forced to take me to a port of entry. A U.S. officer might have seen my distress. I might have yelled out to them...'"

Playing Devil's Advocate here...

She was kidnapped from Central America and "groomed" for commercial sex. Which means that she was already going to be raped, the only question was where it was going to happen.

By bringing her to the US, she was able to escape and get help. Which is something she might not have been able to do in another country.

Further, we already know from "Sex Slave Island" that they could have just as easily taken her to another location, and rich people would have paid to visit and rape her there.

She mistakenly believes that, had there been a wall, then she would have been saved. This is incorrect. They MIGHT have taken her to a port of entry, sure. But there are dozens of other options.

And the chairman of the Human Trafficking Advisory Council agrees, stating that Trump "is living in Disneyland." The wide majority of victims of human trafficking in the US are domestic born:

Countless studies say it would. If it would save a single person from this life then it’s worth it.

That's very sad, I agree. But it doesn't explain anything.

We already have 700 miles of border fencing, and the remainder falls through areas that are considered next to impossible to cross. "Liliana" said that she was taken across the border at somewhere without a fence, and she was 11 years old at the time (no idea how old she is now, so I don't know when that happened).

What we don't know is whether she went through one of the hundreds of tunnels that go under the existing border fencing, or if she went through the desert or mountains, or if she went over a weak part in an existing fence, or if some border patrol agent was being bribed to just open the gate.

Like it or not, even if we had 2,000 miles of a 1,000 foot cement wall that's 50' thick, they could have just as easily taken her through a tunnel underneath. Or just put her on a boat and floated around the border. Or just paid a border patrol agent to ignore her in the trunk of the car when they come through the port of entry.

There's no denying that criminals smuggle things like drugs and sex workers over the border right now. The question is in whether spending billions upon billions of dollars on a wall over decades would have a significant impact on it. And countless studies have said that it would not.

10,000 plus child sex slaves cross the uncontrolled border. Sad.
