Thank the good Lord and all the Electric & Asplungh service workers electricians, tree & brush cutters that worked their bunns off here in Purlear to get our power restored. We lost everything in our freezers, and refrigerators but that can be replaced.

There are still 1,270 Duke Energy Customers without power in Wilkes County. They're estimating those will have power by 11:35 tonight.

Who as of today at 4 pm still does not have power? No power in parts for Roaring River and Rock Creek as of now but other parts have power. Wow mother nature can tear up jack!

For those without power, is there something/anything you need to make your life more tolerable? I apologize for not making this offer sooner. I too was without power and am now able to help others

I live in Millers Creek,Goddard Lane. Still without power. Reports say I should expect power back on by midnight tonight.

Still out where I live, about a mile from North Wilkes Middle School. We lost power around 7:20pm on Friday.

Actually it was the wacko liberal environmental nuts that were stopping Duke from triming the trees.


I don't know about Duke Power ...but Blue Ridge has cut trees down for me instead of topping them on my
request ... I did however have to clean up the trees myself .

I believed him about the tress being in the lines what I didn't believe is that it is cheaper to repair the line than trim then trees

Here's what EW Fan is talking about, with trees grown all up in to the lines. I just took this on 10th Street in North Wilkesboro about an hour ago.

I just got back from my place in Yellow Hill and was pretty lucky there were only two trees down across the private road lead back to our land and the power line was fine.
