I could better understand you being upset over a baseball player making $250 million! But nothing is ever mentioned about athlete's salary!

That's not true, I mentioned athletes before especially because the NFL is tax exempt!

Old Lady I couldn't have said that better myself. The company is going to **** in a hand basket.

You could understand a salary like that if the company was doing well however, this is not the case. They are buying back stock, increasing their debt, and this is making their numbers look better.

However, it will catch up with them eventually. Niblock has been to Lowes just like Nardelli was to Home Depot. Could be the beginning of the end of the company.

There is no service in the stores, and the lack of inventory is absolutely stupid. Heaven forbid you need more than 3 or 4 of an item. I had to go to 4 different stores looking for kitchen cabinet knobs.

And they keep escorting employees out of the building. They need to escort Niblock out.

I'm thankful for Lowe's. It feeds our family. Compare other CEO salaries of companies the size of Lowe's to Mr. Niblick's salary. Be quiet. If you had his job, you'd expect the same.

Antagonize, back when Lowes got a footing on the national scene a man named Johnny Walker gave it the boost it needed to succeed. His philosophy was "Nothing ever happens until something gets sold" . Where did he go wrong? The generator of any business in incoming revenue. Without it you don't need the bean counters. Might not have been a bad thing to remember when they made their choice of CEO's. You cannot cut your way to prosperity, you must sell your way to prosperity.

Truthseeker...if someone wasn't sitting in that chair, leading the company, the shelf stockers, clerks, truckdrivers, call center employees and all other Lowe's employees wouldn't have a job. Are you really that shortsighted?

Wow antagonize, that was quite an elitist post!

"He doesn't answer calls at the call center"

Do you even realize that without the ones answering calls and stocking shelves, he wouldn't have a job? He is not that much more valuable as to deserve 100 times the salary of he workers.

Lowe's should never allow a single individual to be President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board. All checks, balances, and accountability is forfeited under this arrangement. I have absolutely no problem with "qualified" executives being highly compensated based upon their able contribution to a company. Unfortunately, this particular role has now become a quest to stay in power, and amass great wealth instead of providing effective direction and leadership to Lowe's. It's long overdue for a change at the top.

And you, you sanctimonious hypocrite. you probably wouldn't know what a 100 dollar bill was if someone hit you in the face with it. Don't come on here insulting someone you do not know just because you can hide behind a screen name. Truth be told I have probably got more money in my front pocket that you have in your back pocket. Get over yourself

I agree, if you can't scrape by on 1 1/2 million dollars a month, you need to learn money management. Tell that to those that built the company and set his pampered butt in the chair.

And another thing, this is evidence of the brainwashing the liberals are pushing out through the media....."evil rich, the 1% have all the wealth, little man can't get ahead" etc. Lowes employees, thousands and thousands of people. In the end, this man is responsible to ensure the company does well so ALL those people have jobs, feed their families, put clothes on their backs, and a roof over their heads. He is justly compensated for the amount of responsibility he carries. He's not responsible for getting my order right at the drive-through, he's not responsible for stocking the shelves at night, he doesn't answer the phones at the call center. When you do BIG, positive things, you are justly rewarded. We all have that opportunity, but you have to turn off the TV and stop worrying about who was kicked off the show, leave the cave kill something and drag it back. Make positive action happen in your life and good things (money, relationships, better health) will follow. Drop the poison jealousy and get on with your life.

Typical Wilkes county rednecks. Jealous that someone is being successful and not living in the trailer park with them. Good for Niblock! He leads a company that serves millions of people each year by bringing them stores that provide goods and services that fill their hardware needs. Its a free country, if you want to make millions, you go do the same thing. If you want to be wealthy, do what wealthy people do dumb***.

Yes even during the hard times of drastic cuts and firing good hard working people that worked for Lowe's while Robert Niblock was pushing Tonka toys in the sand box Lowes has come up with a 50% raise, (not a typo) 50% raise for CEO/HATCHETMAN Niblock. We sincerely hope his 18.7 Million dollar package can tide him through until he can do better. Scraping by on such meager means will no doubt crimp his lifestyle but lets all pray that it doesn't get to him and cause him to make bad business decisions. Talk about GREED
