Did anybody opt out of the breadstick option? If so did you have a hard time.doing it?

Any GW reporters live on.the scene? Was curious if the place is still packed, or have they run out of food yet?

Wonder when the first person arrived to get in line?

Almost opening.time, do they have the SWAT teams deployed to the parking lot? You know crowd control will be a problem....

The U.S. has seen an increase in restaurant revenue for over 10 years now, so Wilkes being a hot spot for restaurants is expected.

The old American Drew site in Downtown NW needs to be redeveloped for some jobs.

I hate to disappoint you Yugoman but I don't think you will see any gun manufacturers moving to the area any time soon much less any other kind of manufacturing jobs, look how many manufactures have died over the last 20 years (textile to furniture). also unless you have a skill degree such as an engineering degree you can't get into many manufacturing jobs

I think Carrabbas is a better choice as well. Also think its cool how they have plants growing on.the roof! You think we will ever get one of those?

I've got to ask...I know I shouldn't...because it might just make you blow the top off your head...but how do you feel about Carrabba's? LOL! It is my favorite Italian chain restaurant. I would much rather have Italian from a local restaurant, but if it is a chain Carrabba's is my pick...then Olive Garden.

I'd love to see gun manufacturers come too. Any manufacturers would be great.

I still want to see gun manufacturers move here. Maybe with an OG and RL.they will come here, seeing that we have fine dining establishments

Daddy P

Yugoman I promise you if they fail within the first year you can come on here and shout told you so and I will say you were right. You may be right, but I hope they do good.

I want to see some gun manufacturers come in rather than restaurants. Let's get some big money jobs in Wilkes!

yugo man has an issue with all food establishments. He has bashed everything new coming into wilkes county. He must have been fired from every place he has worked in the past...

I agree it is noble to wish success for new businesses, but when their parent company is coming out with gloomy.reports each quarter, perhaps we should hope for the best but prepare for the worst. So if ours is shut down in six months or a year, the shock will not be overwhelming .

The point is that we are getting one. Its a done deal and opening tomorrow. Why shoot it down just because we need better companies to come. If it fails it fails, but we should all hope it does well because that means our economy is doing better. Trust me this store opening will be hurting my family's pocket in a sense ..every restaurant that opens does, but I still want to see it do well and hope that Wilkes economy is good enough to support it and all the other restaurants in Wilkes.

Sorry to shoot down someone's theory.I have worked in restaurants over the.years, but never at an.olive garden. I agree we need business in.Wilkes but let's concentrate on.getting good paying manufacturing jobs, rather than restaurant chains already circling the drain. It's not my opinion but fact, anyone can read the.news stories of Darden losses each quarter, and more and more cutbacks. Realistically , how long till the Wilkes stores are placed on the chopping block.to.be closed?

I would say from looking at all of Yugoman's posts he is more than likely a former disgruntled employee of Olive Garden!
