The continuing idiocity of maintaining two seperate towns is killing the Wilkesboros (especially, North Wilkesboro). Under most any scenario, the two towns should merge and be operated as one. The problem is . . . Wilkesboro, with all the revenue derived from business 421, has all the money and Wilkesboro has all the debt. While I understand the economics involved, our citizens would still be far better served if the two towns were forced to merge. It's simply archaic and self defeating to continue operating as seperate towns.

It all started when the republicans used to wait outside the polling locations and stick 3 one dollar bills in poor half starved peoples shirt pockets.

I'm with sassy, them stop signs was the worst idea anyone came up with.At this point I'm gonna start caring me a bat around everywhere I go when walking as a warning that if you run me over I'm gonna beat your ***.In the past year I have almost been hit on several occasions because they're either to **** impatient to wait for a person to cross or they wanna be the first in line when I was already on the crossing lane. The only reason people take that stupid route is cause it's to dodge all the traffic lights. 
I just don't feel safe anymore when trying to go gather my groceries or go for a simple walk.

I have a serious issue with the town buying the Elk's Lodge, when they've officially stated that they have no reason to buy it and no plans to actually use the land or building.
Why buy it, then? Is it because two of the five town commissioners are Elk's Lodge officers?

Any reason they can possibly give would establish a precedent for them to buy any and every house or business that's for sale in North Wilkesboro. It's a waste of taxpayer's money, and it makes it look like they're just trying to funnel our money into their own pockets.
