It's necessary to watch the news to keep up with current events. However, obsessing over the news will rot your soul and joy.

there you go again goddess. i love ya babe. but puh lease! lay off the downing of the KJV bible. it rules!

Begging your pardon metal....I didn't down anything...the scriptures do exactly as 1047 suggested that the new does...

it does lead to an unnatural fear of the unknown...it does lead to aggression...as is seen throughout the centuries of mankind even to this day...religious wars are being fought as we speak

it can stifle creativity and the ability to think rationally....which leads to those wars, fear and aggression.

there is nothing different between the two.

there is good news and bad news in both!

That's how I am, I hardly watch the news. The less I watch the better I feel.

"It leads to fear and aggression, and hinders your creativity and ability to think deeply."

Psalm 30:5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. KJV

I have a feeling that you are going to announce what we SHOULD be reading instead of the news, right?

Well this might be a good alternative.
