I'm not sure who is speaking to whom...but allow me to clear my observation...

I am no one's mother!

I stated that a person has a right to protect and defend his property. yes, he has a right to be hiding in said property as it is still his property!!!! It doesn't matter if said property was locked or standing wide open...it's still his property and he still has a right to protect his property.

Anyone else that entered said property whether they opened the door and walked in or if they broke down the door and walked in...uninvited is considered to be "trespass"!!!!

And this wasn't the first time said property had been broken/walked into... the property owner STILL has the right to protect his property!!!

Now, I'll expand this with my opinion....do I think, that he could have resolved his trespassing issue without gunfire without loss of life without crippling someone, yes, but I wasn't the property owner wasn't my decision!

Riverworks: Per your words Whitley never called 911. Huh??

Whitley called 911 twice during the incident, once before the pair entered his building and again after deputies said he fired three to four rounds from a small-caliber handgun.

"Somebody's getting ready to break into this building. Hurry, hurry," Whitley said in a hushed voice during the first call.

In the second call, the apparently shaken property owner tells the dispatcher that two people had entered his building and that he had shot both of them.

"I've never done nothing like this," Whitley said. "I'm scared to death. Please hurry."

The second dispatcher kept Whitley, who said he was then hiding in a back room, on the phone until deputies arrived.

Goddess, he was there hiding in the dark with a broken door. He was inviting them in so he could shoot them. If not, why didn't he fix the broken door so no one could get in.

This is a very strange statement. Are you saying that if I don't keep my doors locked and in perfect condition that I am ALLOWING strangers into my home and it's my fault? So I'm guessing you are for the "wall"? No. Nevermind. Of course you aren't. You aren't logical enough to apply the same reasoning to both circumstances.

If you are his mother which i assume you are the reason he is dead. You still cant comprehend he done anything wrong. Dont sound like he had much upbringing.

Thank god cynor died. Otherwise we the tax payers would be keeping his worthless *** up in prison. He was a thief and drug addict.

Goddess, he was there hiding in the dark with a broken door. He was inviting them in so he could shoot them. If not, why didn't he fix the broken door so no one could get in. He never even called 911 to report an attempted break in. The man was a murderer and karma paid it's debt when he died.

I agree with Westend, it's very sad to think these brothers lives both ended in tragedy (one dead, one going to prison) over something as silly as land but it happens!

point is...there is no way to prove that he was there to commit premeditated murder!

he was there to protect his property!

he was the owner of the building...it had been broken into several times prior to the shooting..he was entitled to be in the building...whether hiding or not!

had not these folks been there in the first place no one would have been shot, killed and crippled!

This is so sad between brothers! But the situation up on hwy 18 was horrible also how he hid out in the Utility Building to shoot to kill. There should have been more done about this also in my opinion!

Maybe you don't know enough about the most recent situation to make an informed decision.

No, what I am trying to say is the vast different ways that Wilkes police handle a situation. The two stories are pretty seemlier. You will have to admit that. Yet they were handled by our local police in way different ways. I don't care much for that guy on 18. In my book he was a murderer,

That guy up on 18 that shot the 2dope heads that broke into his building ... It killed the male and injured the female . But she's not crippled

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Smear his name or say it was ok for hoodlums to break into Mr Whitleys property.
