I think they ought to raise chickens there and sell the chicken droppings to farmers for their gardens. Love McDonalds chicken sandwiches but you gotta raise the chickens before you get the meat.

Not completely true with McDonalds as far as the building . I am unsure about the others. Mickey D's owns all of their property and are one of the US largest corporate landowners. They also sell the franchisee all of the products and get a percentage of sales along with leasing the property to the franchisee. McDonalds was set up very intelligently, and has many revenue streams.

What some do not seem to grasp is that McDonald's, Wendy's, etc are not owned by the company but by franchisees. You pay an upfront price for the franchise, build the building to their specs, and pay them a percentage of the sales as a royalty.
My guess is that by the time you buy the franchise, pay for the real estate, build the building, and equip it you are way North of $1.5 million dollars. Not many want to stick their neck out that far in this area.

That's up to the food chains that might want to build here, nothing to do with MCDonalds. As you said every town has a McDonalds or two , so something else must be keeping them away.

A little off topic but have any of you seen the ad mcdonald's has on fb? The one they did for superbowl? Apparently they are doing a pay with love thing where they let random customers have their order for free if they call and tell their mom that they love them or hug somebody or do a Dance. Doing it starting Monday until valentine's
