That's probably true Old Lady , we are a very small market., even if you add Wilkesboro and N.Wilkesboro together.

lowes has a store in Atlanta. They would never come here because there is not enough business to support 2 stores.

I found it , they opened up their first two stores in Atlanta Ga., I'd never thought about that before.

Has Home Depot even tried to build a store in Wilkes ? I think they're happy to let people drive to HIckory or Winston Salem to shop at their stores.

Lowe's is still a big supporter of our county, pay attention
I do not know first hand but I have always been told the two stores have an agreement not to build in each others home time. I remember when Lowes moved their headquarters to Mooresville N.C. there was a rumor Home Depot was coming to Wilkes but it clearly was just a rumor. The agreement could be just a rumor to but I believe the agreement was true.

Can Fins say no comment on this one?

Grayson... Lowes doesn't have any insight on toilet paper much less something as complicated as a shovel. And I am talking the lead people in the highest positions.

"I have to know what you're going to be shoveling to offer a model number."

A month's worth of cat litter.

People lose jobs everyday, it's just business. The sad story from the Wilkes Lowes cuts are some of these folks are young, have families and most likely have a mortgage. They were making +/- $40 - $50K a year. Probably just getting by but were making a living.
Where are they going to replace this income in Wilkes?

Exactly :(

Grayson, a good shovel will be a forged single piece of carbon steel or aluminum with the attachment to the wooden or fiberglass shank being somewhat more substantial than a small nail. I have to know what you're going to be shoveling to offer a model number. If you have a forge I can offer advice on tempering the edge.

"I might go buy another one of those $100 toilets before they close the doors. Best toilet I ever had. It'll flush a months worth of cat litter the first time."

How about their shovels? Do you have any insight into their durability/workmanship?

Crypt, you talk so much craziness but I have never heard tell of a Mrs Crypt. I think I'd like her, seems like she'd have to be a special great woman haha!
