I wonder if the owners of the bowling alley/skating rink had the attitude that stuff is just stuff? I think the magnitude of the loss of a business is being minimized. The loss of one's livlihood.

What do I care? Stuff comes and stuff goes. I am trying to decide if I want to work again. If I decide to, I will have to give up all my stuff for new stuff.

Would insurance cover the merchandise, the damage, AND the lost sales while everything is repaired?
And in "high risk" areas, would insurance cover this at all? A lot would depend on the amount of coverage a particular business had. In most cases, I would guess, the coverage would not be enough. With homeowner's insurance, for example, you have to have a great deal of coverage to allow for replacement value. And many folks simply cannot afford that level of coverage.
I cannot imagine I would "happily" clean up the mess either.

Yeah and who will support these owners financially while the insurance companies take their time paying if they will even pay considering it was a riot.

Not trying to argue with you, but how many times have we heard of insurance companies refusing claims for certain situations. Or not pay in full because of some kind of fine print you signed 30 years ago? Don't trust he insurance company either. They'll ride you hard and put you up wet quicker than anyone!! Only we can protect ourselves

The store owners all need to sue the government(local, state and federal) for intentionally not protecting them.

Stuff is just stuff. I would let the looters have the stuff and happily clean up the mess.
??????
Surely you're not serious about that statement. You'd happily clean up the mess after people stole what you'd worked for?? To each their own I guess.

My store would be protected by AR, AK, SKS, and 9's. The police, insurance company, or no one else can protect me better than myself. And my "stuff " is what I worked for my whole life and not for thugs to be thieving. So to answer the question would be Shoot and then let God be the judge.

I would not shoot, I would not be able to as I do not own a gun. I would get myself to safety and let the insurance handle all loss. No sense in putting life in danger over stuff. Stuff is just stuff. I would let the looters have the stuff and happily clean up the mess.

The cops ain't doing nothing......so I would defend my property and "SHOOT". Would wait until they were inside and lay them on the floor.
