Well I didn't grow up in Southern California but I still think La Fortuna is best of Wilkes. A little more pricey than others but well worth extra cash

Since I haven't eaten their before, what would you recommend to be the best to try out or starters.Monte del reys didn't agree on my stomach and I'm willing to give mexican another shot.
I'm not over familiar with their food of choices but I seem to love me taco and burritos but would like to try other stuff and maybe you can help me.

I think the food is awesome as well. No other Mexican restaurant in town can touch it in my opinion. Forgot about deejays building. Hope they do well wherever they move to.

True, but they have to report income or the IRS will wonder how they can pay the rent. I can't imagine they want to get audited.

I assume they just don't want to pay the 3% or whatever it is. But they could always raise their prices a little, then offer a cash discount.

Cash only! No trace of sales

I don't think anything is ever going to open in the old Bojangles building, the roof is falling in and it's probably going to have to be torn down and rebuilt.

The old Woodhaven is a thought. There's also the old DeeJay's building on School Street. Or maybe one of the outparcels around Walmart is planning to close and they'll just take over the lease... Golden Wok, maybe? Or even Shanghai...

I'm sick and tired of Tex-Mex, too, and this is the closest thing to authentic Mexican that we have! I hope they do well in their new location, but I also hope they take cards so I can eat there more often.

"" I grew up in California so I know good Mexican food!"
Maybe you do, maybe you don't....claiming the place you were raised as your only qualifier?...I dunno

No way! They are the best in town :)

Boycott wherever they go we have enough run down Mexican joints. Try La Fuente in Elkin way better.

Their business has dropped off in the past year. Chile Verde is better and they take plastic.

Or Woodhaven building.

Yeah, the only place I could think of was the old Bojangles on Bus 421/D street.

I sure hope it's still in the same area. They have the best Mexican food hands down and I grew up in California so I know good Mexican food!

I recently ate there and asked them. They said they were keeping the new location on the down low, not sure why. The only vacant restaurant building I can think of is the old
Bojangles by the Carolina west offices?? Have no clue though

I was told today that they're closing their current location on July 30 and reopening somewhere else. Anybody know where?

And will the new location finally take cards, or is it still cash-only?
