In your minds it seems that the klan protesting because they can't kill brown people and brown people protesting because the klan in cop suits are killing them is the equal rights. Well, actually you seem to think brown people shouldn't be allowed to protest.

"Protesting against someone's right to protest. Sounds like - pot meet kettle."

People aren't questioning their right to protest. That's between the players/personnel and the owners ( the ones writing the paychecks). Personally, I think it is a testimony to the military who provided them that freedom.

The discussion always evolves into the "right to" do something, when it's not in question. That's when the argument starts falling apart.

Yeah, I remember Tim Tebow. As I said on another thread...Tim Tebow was ridiculed by the media and ostracized by the NFL.

If an NFL fan is not watching/attending games, they're actually boycotting. The fans are the consumers. This is why you don't see political signs in businesses supporting candidates.

They are peacefully protesting. They aren't jumping up and down on the flag. Remember Tim Tebow kneeling? Everyone loved him and thought it was great.

Apparently, thousands of people. Check your own social media.

Why is that stupid?

Protesting the NFL because NFL players are protesting. Now who sounds stupid.

It keeps getting mentioned that they have a "right to protest". Well, yeah. They also have a right to be fired from their jobs because they are on the job site being paid by their employer and their opinion is a representation of the beliefs of their company. While many owners are getting behind the players, there are also many NFL fans planning to boycott football because of their own interpretations of the protests. And, at the end of the day, this is about business and the almighty dollar.

The NFL will come to regret this political ploy.

Thinking NFL players are "protesting the flag or the national anthem" is like thinking Rosa Parks was protesting public transportation.

That's the thing. This is very subjective and most on my social media and all I have actually talked to, see it as disrespecting the flag, the country, the military. Check your own social media. Ask your friends what they discern from the gesture.

In fact, I didn't know what the deal was with the kneeling Sunday. I worked two very long days Friday and Saturday and wasn't up on the news so I looked it up, thinking it was still a protest of law enforcement. No, it wasn't clear for me.

That said, while I understand the intent, many are interpreting it as disrespect for the country.

That said,

I'm not sure why people are angry about a peaceful protest when apparently the Nazi's and KKK marching in the streets and running people down, was covered under the Constitution.

Protest away. However, it seems they are making more of an impact then you.

If NFL players have a right to protest, I have the right to protest their protest.

@ Hepsibah
Beeblebrox, they are the same people who would have thought Rosa Parks was "uppity."

Yup, I just wanted "good ole sarge" to fess up. He thought he was so sly in emphasizing the "N" in NFL and NBA. I just want him to realize that everyone knows now.

While I personally don't agree with the method of protest, I respect their right to peacefully protest injustice.

It wasn't to long ago that the players stayed in the locker room during the anthem and no one seemed to get their knickers in a twist then.
