find the thread from a week or two ago if you are serious about buying one

but if you wanna throw away a few hundred bucks when you can get something just as good at Lowe's for $65, it's your money

I just read the link provided and saw nothing anyone had posted about EdenPure being a rip off.
Also I think EdenPure and the Amish heaters are not the same.
I don't have a EdenPure...yet, but I have talked to others that bought them.
One man told me he ran his pretty much non-stop for a month. He said his gas heat hardly ever came on during that month and that his power bill was only about $20.00 higher.

Yeah it was a little obvious Argus, but as you say that's OK.

Me thinks golfin10 is advertising for the Creek Stop. Not that there's anything wrong with it.

If you don't like the EdenPure and can return it as advertised, can you do it locally or do you have to ship it off. Refund immediate?

It'd be worth asking before buying.

I purchased my edenpure back at the end of September. I set my main heat pump on 60 degreesApproximately what was your heat pump set on last year? If there are savings to be had it's prob from your house being cooler.

"the edenpure gen3 1000 is the best supplement heat I have found thus far."

How many other supplemental heating systems have you tried? Please list those, and your recommendations.

Thank you in advance.

I purchased my edenpure back at the end of September. I set my main heat pump on 60 degrees. I have already saved myself when I got Novembers duke power bill by $230.00 from last year alone. You guys remember how cold this November was compared to last year. You believe those other websites if you want but the edenpure gen3 1000 is the best supplement heat I have found thus far. I would completely recommend it to knock the chill off and keep your main heat oil or propane from running so much this winter.

I completely recommend!!

snip from a search on dogpile.com:

Our partners at Consumer Reports magazine have tested it and other heaters.

Is the EdenPure Amazing?

The results of the test of the heavily advertised EdenPure were not promising.

The $400 EdenPure ended up at the bottom of the ratings. It was the worst performing of 20 space heaters tested.

Top Performing Heaters

Top rated: The Honeywell Electric heater HZ-519, for just $60.

It's normally sold by Home Depot and Amazon.com, among other stores, but has been in very short supply, due to Consumer Reports' review.

Honeywell makes a similar model, The Honeywell HZ-515, that does not have a digital display, but is otherwise the same heater, and is more widely available as of October 20, 2008.

Also highly rated: The Holmes Quartz Tower, $60....and the DeLonghi SafeHeat Flat Panel, $80.

Just wait until you get your power bill. My mom got one of these heaters, it was great until her power bill nearly doubled. In her case it was still cheaper than buying oil.

You've only had it for 2 days????

The general consensus is..

Wait for the first REA bill.

I finally found a local dealer in town that just became authorized to sell EdenPure Electric Heaters. Bought my heater yesterday up in Millers Creek at the Creek Stop Grocery Store. I got me the 1000 sq ft one and it works great. Knew alot people had been talking about these heaters. Good way to save money this winter!
