As projected... Causey rejected their request...

What a good guy! Let's forget about his crimes and applaud him for not agreeing to the ruse that he probably helped fabricate

Insurance companies have raised rates because Bidenflation has raised the cost of repairing/replacing homes, cars, etc when damage occurs to them.

Insurance companies have been raising their annual rates since the insurance industry began and blaming Biden only shows your ignorance and bias.

Some people on here are so stupid. Wilkes is not a large city, but our prices on insurance, food, housing is going up as much as any other area. These democrats are destroying this country.

The last time that the homeowners insurance rate in NC went up was November 2020. They asked for a 24.5% increase, but were given a 7.9% increase:

Since Biden was not President until January 2020, your rate went up under Trump

Not that it really matters, because this is a state issue, not federal. Neither Trump nor Biden has anything to do with it.

Since this is an election year for the NC Insurance Commissioner, and he's already under major scrutiny for corruption, it's highly unlikely that he would approve a high rate increase. If he does, he knows that he'll be voted out of office.

That corruption scrutiny...

NC Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey hired a 77 year old campaign supporter to be his personal driver, but gave him a title of "Deputy Secretary / Commissioner I." So his driver is paid $84,000 a year out of tax money... obviously just funneling tax money to his supporter.

He gave a job to another supporter who did literally nothing, and was paid $65,134 for 5 years. This one had originally ran for the same office, but then chose to support Causey instead of running against him... this is clearly him being paid off with tax money.

The corruption is technically legal, just highly unethical.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out that he's encouraging this high request to take the attention off of his scandals, and then when he denies it he'll look like a hero.

Home insurance price increases is not something that bothers most Democrats. The projects and basements are insured by others

Mine is up from $785 the year Biden took over (2021) to 1066 in 2023. That's about 35%, about the same as the real rate of Bidenflation.

These insurance companies are simply reacting to the Biden's Socialistic style of government. We have seen everything we buy, skyrocket This is not an accident, it is planned. Socialist create a crisis then supply the solution. Socialism replaces Capitalism in our communist dictators mind

interesting fact

You can thank your fool of a president for this. Insurance companies are pulling out of California so businesses will be forced to closed. You will have boarded up buildings throughout the larger cities because of this fool's lack of protection against crime and refusal to follow the law in prosecuting criminals. Also with his open border policies are causing cities to use funds for migrants instead of their own citizens. He should be impeached and sent to prison. Never in our lifetime has there been such a huge failure like this in this country. This country will never recover.

It's not case of home worth more. They are charging you a higher percentage of the worth. If I have $100,000.00 home and pay 10% that is $10,000.00 in insurance. If my home value goes to $200,000 and they raise the HOI to 20%, then I pay $40,000 in insurance. They are wanting to almost double their take after house prices doubled.

I discovered last year that my living in a fire district was not recorded with my insurance company. The agent updated my policy with this information and it saved me $300.00. PLEASE call your company and let them know that you live in a fire district or near a hydrant and that your have proper coverage. It makes a big difference.

Its an insurance rate hike, not a tax. Ask your insurance company and the folks who represent the area at the state level.
