You have to check behind your insurance company every few years to make sure they haven't jacked up your rates higher than what you can get it somewhere else. I've had that happen a couple of times. In fact I need to check on mine this year, although I really like the company.

From another post Anti said she was getting old and couldn't sleep. Menopause has hit you hard, sorry to hear this Anti. Have you tried talking to you doctor, help is out there. This explains the constant Posting on Go Wilkes. Talk to your elderly mother she might help.

She's only a few years older than gascon, actually. I've always helped her with her finances, though, and after she retired I've worked to get her every discount I can find

Anti you have to take home value, what it covers, if your inside is covered. We have it all, inside and out, but the only thing it covers is if it burns. Don't know about roof and stuff like that. But our roof just gets old and needs a new one, so it wouldn't cover that anyway. They will tell you its a "act of God" sometimes. You might call some of the brokers around here and let them shop it around for you. Mom got hers with Hartford, they have discounts for retirees. She pays $600 a year with a $1,500 deductible.

An anymore if you get canceled it takes an act of congress to find another.Surffer acts like you can just walk in an agency an with enough money can buy a policy. Not so. Anymore they will come check your property an if they find one of stoneys dogs you will never get insurance. I got canceled one time I believe it was Farmers who pulled out of NC an I had to jump thru hoops to find another Co.By luck my roof was good but they can make you re roof your house.

Insurance companies can legally steal your money. Most never use it and if you do they cancel it.
