While the late Sen. John McCain's daughter Meghan McCain frequently clashes with President Donald Trump, it was youngest daughter Bridget McCain who criticized trump Thursday for disparaging her father, calling trump "a child."
"@realDonaldTrump Everyone doesn't have to agree with my dad or like him, but I do ask you to be decent and respectful," she tweeted. "If you can't do those two things, be mindful. We only said goodbye to him almost 7 months ago."
"@realDonaldTrump Even if you were invited to my dad's funeral, you would have only wanted to be there for the credit and not for any condolences," she added. "Unfortunately, you could not be counted on to be courteous, as you are a child in the most important role the world knows."
Meghan McCain, a co-host on "The View," applauded her sister's decision to speak up during a segment Thursday. "My little sister Bridget, for the first time ever, has decided that she wants to speak out. She's very, very private. ...
Anyone who knows anything about political history could probably surmise why she's chosen to lead a very private life, but she felt inclined to say and tweet this," McCain said.
"It's very brave of her -- she's young and she does not speak publicly," she added.
Meghan McCain accused the Trump family of lacking empathy, thanking the public for the outpouring of support for her family.
"I don't expect decency and compassion from the Trump family," she said. "I do want to thank the American public for all the decency and compassion that they have given us. Do not feel sorry for my family."

Trump, who reluctantly ordered the White House flags to half staff under pressure from veterans groups when McCain died, credited himself Wednesday with honoring his intra-party political rival.
"I gave him the funeral that he wanted, which as president I had to approve," Trump said. "I don't care about this: I didn't get a thank you. That's okay. We sent him on the way, but I wasn't a fan of John McCain." "When a president (who faked a disability in order to avoid serving) attacks a departed war hero, it's for attention," Buttigieg tweeted. "We should honor the late Senator McCain, and also follow his example by focusing not on the behavior of the president but on the future of our country."
Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., in a radio interview on Wednesday with Georgia Public Broadcasting, denounced Trump's earlier remarks as "deplorable" �" the term Hillary Clinton famously used to describe half of Trump's supporters during the 2016 campaign.
“I think if I had told my dad, 'Seven months after you’re dead you're going to be dominating the news and all over Twitter,' he would think it's hilarious that our president was so jealous of him that he was dominating the news cycle in death as well," McCain said on ABC's “The View.”

Cindy McCain, the widow of Sen. John McCain, posted a hateful message she received from a stranger the same day Donald Trump disparaged her late husband.
McCain posted a photo of the private message on Twitter and wrote, "I want to make sure all of you could see how kind and loving a stranger can be. I'm posting her note for her family and friends could see." The message said the sender was "glad" the late Arizona Republican is dead, and called him a "traitorous piece of warmongering s***." The message also attacked her daughter, Meghan McCain, criticizing her appearance and saying she hopes she "chokes to death."

What we witnessed on Sunday is somewhere between concerning and absolutely terrifying. The most powerful man in the country -- and maybe the world -- spent his day touting unproven conspiracy theories about stolen elections, suggesting collusion between Democrats and comedians, attacking a military hero and Republican senator, and trying to program his favorite cable network's broadcasts. And he did all of this while failing to send even a single tweet about the tragic mass shooting in New Zealand.
The Federal Communications Commission or Federal Election Commission should investigate whether "Saturday Night Live" and late-night talk shows are in collusion with Democrats and/or Russia because they attack him so consistently
. Attacked late Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, for allegedly sending the FBI the Steele dossier before the election -- and working with Democrats to do so. (Also, Trump called McCain -- who, it's worth noting, is dead -- "last in his class" at the US Naval Academy.)
Urged Fox News Channel to reinstate host Jeanine Pirro after she was suspended for questioning the patriotism of Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, who is Muslim.
Urged FNC to stand up for host Tucker Carlson, who has seen some advertisers pull out of his show following the release of a series of caustic and offensive remarks he made on a radio show between 2006 and 2011.
Attacked FNC anchor Shep Smith and two other weekend anchors at Fox, alleging they had "been trained by CNN prior to their ratings collapse."Alleged that Democrats tried to "steal a presidential election," calling it "the biggest scandal in the history of our country.
" Retweeted Jack Posobiec, who among other things, is a leading promoter of the Pizzagate and Seth Rich conspiracy theories.
All of this -- and lots, lots more -- in the space of a single day.

This is a sick man...yet you supporter follow him...that means you either are under his trance or your just plain . ..I do not care if your Evangelista'a or nonbelievers. ..he is stoking up a Civil War because he is a loser...tweets against a DEAD MAN...a man he could never attain the respect of a nation..bone spur woos...is and will always be a third hand character. . All of this in advance of a report that may tie him to Russian collusion...the State of New York is another investigation he labels a witch hunt...does he have something to worry about? Meghan McCain said Monday that President Trump is leading a “pathetic life” as she escalated her pushback against Trump’s weekend attacks on Twitter against her late father. “He spends his weekend obsessing over great men, because he knows it, and I know it, and all of you know it, he will never be a great man,” Upon seeing derogatory tweets about her father over the weekend, Meghan McCain said she thought “your life is spent on your weekends not with your family, not with your friends, but obsessing, obsessing over great men you could never live up to.”
“That tells you everything you need to know about his pathetic life right now,” she added. “I genuinely feel bad for his family. I can’t imagine having a father that does this on the weekends.”
