I feel your pain Wilkesnc26. I do my taxes on H & R Block, and am paying in both State and Federal when I expected a refund......even if just a small one. Sure didn't expect to pay in on both. Nothings changed, yet I got back a small refund last year. Must be the new tax laws? Sucks having no deductions. Being a single person sure sucks when it comes to deductions. We only get rewarded for popping out kids it seems.

Some of these comments are just crazy.
First of all, for the first year, we are paying in...not getting a refund.
H&R Block does NOT offer rapid refund or any type of "advancements" no longer like they used to do. They do however offer the Emerald Adavance at Christmas time where you apply for aloan trough a bank and can get up to $1,000 and can opt to have it taken out of your refund. But when you file your taxes it takes up to 21 days and that's if you opt for direct deposit. But no longer can you do like you could in past years and opt to pay a fee and get your money that day or the day after.
Also, as far as the 21 day time frame, that is not the minimun like one of you mentioned. If you opt direct deposit, you are told you should see your refund anywhere from 8-21 days. 21 days being maximum...that is only if the IRS doesn't have glitches and/or delays.
From what I understand, some people who filed early or even on the first day that the IRS opened to accept returns which was 1/20 could start seeing funds as early as tomorrow deposited into their accounts.
I do nor believe any have recieved refunds as of yet.
Hope this helps.

Nobody has gotten their tax refunds yet . They at minimum take 21 days to get back from the day they are accepted . Not filed . First target date is Feb 7-9th for direct deposit. That is if there are no delays .

It is not fair that I choose the stay single and have no children but yet pay higher taxes than some those with hemroids.
Need to end child tax credit and earned income credit. Tax welfare.

If I recall, due to budget cuts at the IRS there could be a delay in processing of refunds.
Why it is better to get your money during the year than let them keep it.
Gues I should go ahead and write the neighbor my $2500 tax check. Save the IRS the trouble.

It says it usually takes 21 days. Even if you filed on the first day the irs started accepting on jan. 20th It could come anytime before feb. 9th. If there is no delays, check irs website Where's my refund? I dont know of anyone who has received a return yet.

Most folks are or have just got them.. I think it's too early to get any refunds back, unless you decided to get an early advance with programs like H&R block offers, which I would rather wait personally.
