Golden Coral closing is the best thing that happened to Wilkes County.
I've never seen anyone eating in there that wasn't obese.

Kiss my rosey toot
They was the bomb but still over priced when fire mountain was the BOMB!

They were entirely overpriced for the quality of food you got. I enjoyed eating there but it was "nothing special" when the had steaks available they were full of fat.

By the way, the one in Statesville is closed permanently and is not remodeling. The guy who owned that one also owns one in Mooresville, he is remodeling it and opening under a different name.

Golden Coral is requiring franchise owners to update and most can't afford too so they are losing their licenses.

i talked to the district manager after I emailed a complaint . I was told that they had changed there recipes and menu. I told them it was a big mistake that the food was terrible. the Statesville store is suppose to be closed for a remodel, don't know about Wilkesboro's. the reason people get food out and leave it is because you can't eat it, or at least I couldn't.

i do't see how they oculd make anything. people made plates of food then picked over it. 33 is nothing for soup, salad meat and vegs, bread, dessert and a drink. really people?

Not surprised. My husband and I went a couple of months ago and it was terrible plus the cost was 33.00 for both of us. I hate it for the people loosing their jobs.

I don't care for Golden Corral at all but every time I go by there during normal lunch or dinner hours the place was packed. Did they just close today?

I've read all these posts and most folk blame either management, prices or food quality.

I wonder though ...

Could it be that it is really the customers' fault? Is it possible that you could haves tolerated a manager who wasn't up to Wilkes' standards? After all, he was from Statesville and may not have known our progressive ways. And, it might have been better to pay that extra 30 or 40%. And the food quality! What did we expect? We can't expect Hardee's quality in this day and age. The Golden Age is in the past. We're Bronze at best. Let us lament our loss that we have caused and reflect. At least we still have Taco Bell.

"Closed down due to them not getting enough money coming through. Had nothing to do with management, it was the fact they didnt have enough money coming in."

if'n they wasn't charging so much for such for bellying up to the hog trough, then serving "food" that wasn't fit for hogs. they just might of had more customers. i went 3 times,it pretty much sucked all three times(1 breakfast,2 dinners) the waitresses did a fairly decent job,the food just wasn't good/worth what they charged...imo.
*i'm not that picky,i ate in truck stops and worse all over the country for years

That place was way overpriced!!! Some of the food was ok but the majority of it was so dried up (by trying to keep warm). We try to support our local places bc of jobs but we couldnt that place.

Bad management was the reason for no customers. It has been going down hill sense they got the manager from Statesville.
