In my experience and to my knowledge gangstalking is done for some or all of these reasons, depending on who the target is and their 'relationship' with them:

Drive someone mad, possibly with the Intention to push that person to suicide
This may be because the person is an activist, whistleblower. A criminal or someone deemed a criminal by evil people in power.
Someone in a position of authority who has intentionally or accidentally upset another powerful person. Revenge.
Some people say their targeting started after leaving an abusive relationship. So, again, revenge.
The person has become awake and resisted the intended effects of media brainwashing and or MK Ultra mind control. Now they are a threat to the system. Satan wasn't successful at stealing the person's soul and he knows it but will do anything he can through the people who were possibly targeting this individual from birth to make them feel otherwise and put them off their God given mission. We all have missions but some people are targeted more than others by what is essentially Satan's army (even if they don't all know it yet, I'm sure that many of them do and they really believe that Lucifer is their saviour).
