That's not true, SMK. Most States have discloser laws regarding employment. Of course, I look at it this way. That piece of paper is nothing more than a key to a door. The key unlocks opportunities for further study or employment and if your key doesn't work, the door won't open.

I suppose it depends on what you want the degree for. If you want a degree for self fulfillment, a local college that is accessible is good for a guided study if it is inexpensive. If you want to use your degree in the work force, it really does need to be accredited.

I haven't read one Christian on this post who claimed to be perfect in any way. These stabs at Christians are overated and over-used. God knows that none of us are perfect and we can't be expected to...every one is a sinner. It is a sad excuse to keep condemning others for their mistakes when the accuser of Christians is just as guilty as the next. To live for yourself and your own desires is a sad excuse to mankind when so many other people are willing to put their lives on the line and their families in jeopardy over people like you. That is why God provided a Savior for the rebels, for the freaks, for us all to be equally be saved from our own filth. This thread is so sidetracked from the original purpose it isn't even worth discussing anymore...we should all be on our knees instead. May we all--Christians or not, be revealed the presence of God in our lives today. God Bless. Matt 5:14--" You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden."

The other thing you have to be careful of are your State Laws regarding employment. In some States it is illegal to pursue a position using degrees from these sorts of places. You could go to jail.

And of course we are taking about the quality of education. Folks who hang shingles from non-accredited institutions are basically making a statement along the lines of, "Yes, I have a degree, but I was not required to meet any standards to receive it."

Now that's just silly. A paper from a school that meets academic standards is a bit different than a paper from a school that does not. That is why employers rarely hire folks from non- accredited schools and accredited schools will not accept transcripts from them. It's just important to a person's employability and access to higher education, so it's worth paying a mind to. This is especially important for folks who wish to advance in the field of Theology. To access the education necessary to advance requires undergraduate work in an accedited institution. Otherwise, they have to start all over.

If you have lived very long you have realized that an education and a piece of paper are two separate thing, with two seperate values. One is important to some and one is important to others. Myself I prefer the education over the shingle

Sweet Hottie? Oh My! Judging from the staff on here, one can understand why the college was not accredited. I mean there has to be some standard. At least this post will help folks to check first before paying for themselves or their children to school at a Diploma Mill. And seriously, staff, show some decorum and professionalism. Your comments are not acceptable for any school personnel, let alone those who claim employment at a religious institution.

FCC trained students in both areas to make every career an opportunity for ministry.

What do students learn at a christian college. Is it only religious docterine or do they learn other skills?

I did work for FCC....It was a wonderful place! It did come to me as a shock yesterday when finding out the news. Please keep all the students and staff in your prayers! As for mysteriousyoungman stop lying...you did work there! My friend already ratted you out because you tried to pick her up with this screen name on gowilkes til she found out from you sister you was engaged. If you hated FCC so freaking bad then why didn't you go somewhere else to work. You're just mad because no one wanted to take your classes....they didn't listen to you because you were so boring. I'm not making this up...that's what I heard from the students. The truth hurts!

decsurvey is correct. Patterson was never a military school. I attended there from 1977-1978. It closed its doors last year due to lack of funding.

Grow up. A lot of posters called other posters asre hole and it is a running joke. Do you post on Off Topic, Rye's posting and a few others. It is used daily. It is better than some names people call other people.

Homeplace, I have nothing but sympathy and well wishes for the students and staff. I was not being cruel, just realistic. Times are tough right now for most schools even those that are well endowed.

It's actually let he woithout sin cast the first stone... and I sin everday! Besides, he did a well enough job of humiliating himself! He claimed to be such a wonderful Christian who saw it ok to dog his fellow workers, his students, and disrespect his wife by joining a dating website... I wasn't judging him, just stating the obvious!
